Online articles promoting 'Beauty and the Beast" starring Kristin Kreuk:
From: Zap2it
"The CW's newest Thursday night drama, "Beauty and the Beast," will have a lot to live up to when it inherits the 9 p.m. post-"The Vampire Diaries" time slot in the fall. The network announced that the shows will be paired together on its official Fall 2012 TV schedule, bringing former "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk back to the network on the night where she used to reside.
"'Beauty and the Beast' takes a classic love story and adds a procedural element," says CW President Mark Pedowitz. While "The Secret Circle" didn't survive more than one year after the excellence of "TVD," "B&B's" supernatural element and CW royalty make the two shows a perfect match in theory."
From blastr.com
"Are you ready for the new Beauty and the Beast? The CW has unveiled the first photo of Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan as the title characters in its reboot. It's also confirmed when the series will air on its upcoming fall schedule.
It's a tale as old as time, but that hasn't stopped The CW from milking it for all it's worth. The network has put its own spin on the famous fable that's been previously adapted for the big and small screen. The most notable TV incarnation aired on CBS from 1987 to 1990. It starred Linda Hamilton as Catherine Chandler and Ron Perlman as Vincent, aka the Beast."

"Two separate networks had versions of the classic Beauty and the Beast story in contention for the 2012-2013 pilot season. One, at ABC was based more on the fairy-tale, while the other, for The CW, was based on the previous incarnation of a television series. And today the latter has been ordered to series.
Beauty and the Beast comes from executive producer and writer Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper, as well as executive producers Paul J. Witt, C. Anthony Thomas, Ron Koslow, and Bill Haber. The pilot was directed by Gary Fleder.
Loosely based on the CBS 1980s series, this version of Beauty and the Beast is a modern-day romance with a procedural twist-- and of course an extra personal connection between the two titular character..." to read article click here

Stacy Haiduk was interviewed by 'The Soap Series' and in this great in-depth phone interview, she talks about her current and past projects including her time as Lana Lang! - If we go back a little bit further the fan boy in me loved your role as Lana Lang ...that show ran for four seasons what sort of memories do you have from back then about that series?
"Very fond ones! You know its funny because that was my first show ever and that was during the writer's strike and it was hard for actors to get work...because writers...it just was a crazy time so I was really blessed to be working at that time. And...I had no idea this had such a huge following back then. If I did maybe I would have done things differently, but you know you just kind of do; you know, your thing. But, I have very fond memories, that was so much fun! I mean, again, when you talk about being on a show for so long, four years, and everybody is away from home it becomes such an amazing family. We had dinners every Friday after shooting and we would go to parties on Saturday and it was...it was...you know, you are talking late 80s [laughs] early 90s. It was fun! I mean, it was a great, great time! It was campy and hilarious and...but there...I was telling a fan the other day, I was saying you know, there's innocence in that, back then there's just an innocence that its now become about sarcasm in shows. I don't know...I look back on that time as really, really amazing and I don't know if I'll ever get that experience again. I hope to! I really do hope to because, you bond with all the directors and all the cast members... and the crew. I loved them! I just loved it. And even being in the humid, hot Florida [laughs] was, you know, it was fun too..."

A nice write-up posted by 'The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation' website regarding Legendary Women & SWEET's experience working together for this common goal - "The Superman universe has brought people many heroes over the years, even beyond its titular idol. Obviously, this charity has grown and flourished under the influence of Christopher and Dana Reeve and their legacy, from life imitating art after a fashion in Mr. Reeve's case. We think that different media incarnations of the story also bring us characters (new or re-imagined) to respect and from whom we can gather strength.
This year, the Sweet Clark and Lana Forum, which was the first group of Smallville fans to hold a drive for this cause, was generous enough to team up with Legendary Women, Inc. for a group event to raise over two thousand dollars for The Reeve Foundation. It's not a collection of all fans of the show, but both groups involved feel it's an important first step in helping bring Smallville fans together to continue supporting this foundation's work.
Both women---Chloe and Lana---have served as role models. It was a joy for our groups to watch them grow throughout the decade of the series from smart high school girls, already aware of the weirdness in their towns, into capable women who were ready to bring both intelligence and strength to the greater superhero world around them. In both cases, it wasn't enough to be a damsel in distress. Eventually they adapted to take Clark's mission as their own and to help him out in a variety of ways. Similarly, we feel that both Ms. Mack and Ms. Kreuk are young women in Hollywood to be admired for the work they've done behind the camera as producers (and a director in Ms. Mack's case) as well as the charities they've worked to support.
Legendary Women, Inc. and Sweet have together gained much from this joint endeavor, more than just a fresh perspective on characters sometimes seen only one way before. Both groups also feel a growing sense of camaraderie. We came together because Sweet and Legendary Women, Inc. found this cause so important that it transcended occasional differences in opinion. We love and respect the women and characters we're honoring here, and we both were glad to be able to work together as a unit, eventually coming to understand that differences existing at the onset of the drive were not insurmountable. (Photo from Legendary Women, Inc.)
Superman as an entity has created fictional heroes and served, in part, to help bring strength to real life ones. It has given us two amazing women among others to emulate and to honor. We'd like to point out, however, that it has been The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation that has allowed both Sweet and Legendary Women, Inc. over the past six years to help others. It has been beyond supportive while affording this opportunity.
For that we are grateful and earnestly hope that The Reeve Foundation will "go forward" with this donation as it continues to serve so many. Sincerely, Sweet and Legendary Women, Inc.

Kristin Kreuk is featured and pictured in Zap2it's 'TV You May Be Watching Next Season' article:
"In about a month, the broadcast networks will be making their final decisions about which pilots to pick up for the 2012-13 season.
The obligatory two shows with the same premise
We've previously noted that both ABC and The CW are developing takes on "Beauty and the Beast." The CW's is more or less a remake of the late-'80s CBS drama -- Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan star, and the show is set in present-day New York. ABC's version hews closer to the fairy tale and is set in a fictional kingdom (and sounds as if it were specifically designed as a companion to "Once Upon a Time").
The networks will announce their 2012-13 schedules at their upfront presentations the week of May 14."

Incidentally, Lois had her age reversed every other week during the Silver Age of Comics. In 1959's Lois Lane #10, our mishap-prone heroine activates a de-aging machine and accidentally becomes an infant. To teach her a lesson about vanity, Superman will only feed her the antidote via baby bottle. It's worth mentioning that Batman's exhibited similar predilections to spanking.

legendarywomen.org has posted a wonderful fan tribute to 'Smallville's' Lana Lang! - "A Look At Lana Lang Over The Years" by Lily K. Lynn- In 2001, my older brother and I sat down to watch the pilot episode of a new show called "Smallville". I was twelve years old and while I adored Superman as a kid, I didn't expect this to be the beginning of what I now refer to as a heart-wrenching love affair with this series and its characters.
As a devoted Lana Lang fan, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit I had no idea who she was when Kristin Kreuk first appeared on screen asking our young Clark Kent if he was "man or Superman". My knowledge of the Superman mythology at that age extended little beyond the series, "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman". Yet there was a character named Lana Lang and while she is often described as Clark Kent's high school sweetheart, it became quite apparent throughout "Smallville" that there was a lot more to her than the small-town girl who stole our hero's heart. I've often told people that I grew up with "Smallville" and that I wouldn't be the person that I am had I not been such an avid fan of the show.
The glory days of the series taught me that family was important. It taught me to see the best in others, that honesty was invaluable and that sometimes we had to make sacrifices for the people we love. Yet it also taught me that these sacrifices should never be at the expense of our own growth as human beings. While I enjoyed following the journeys of all the "Smallville" characters, Lana was always my favorite. I celebrated when she was happy and I cried with her when her heart got broken. When she dreamt of Paris, I too dreamt of running away to a place where nobody knew my name and run I did. Perhaps I can't credit Lana for the travels I've been lucky enough to experience in my life, but she did instill in me that desire to break free from what felt safe in order to grow into a stronger person who was surer of her place in the world. While Lana's generous spirit, open heart and business-savvy qualities were things I strived toward, what appealed to me most about this character were her flaws. She has often been criticized as being too perfect, but I've always believed this couldn't be further from the truth. From season one it was apparent there was more to her than the pretty, popular cheerleader persona she wore. This was a girl who had lost her parents when she was three-years-old and felt deeply alone in the world. Her propensity to rely on others to fill this void in her life has always been the root of Lana's mistakes, and it is this flaw that makes her character most fascinating to watch.
As human beings, we cannot exist without imperfections. We all have them. Lana struggled with her need to find love outside of herself in order to validate her own self-worth. She often put others before herself, choosing to stay in a relationship with Whitney when his dad got sick despite her changed feelings. When Clark wouldn't open up to her, she felt she wasn't good enough. Yet as the seasons progressed, we got to see her gradually break out of this pattern and grow into a stronger woman capable of standing on her own two feet. From the onset, Lana always had a fighter's spirit. In season one, she challenged Lex Luthor and got him to agree to a partnership for the Talon coffee shop. Tired of being a helpless victim, she learnt to defend herself in season two against her attackers. It became more and more apparent that a lot more lay beneath this mask of perfection she put on.
We saw her truly break free from this façade in Season Four. She knew that being around Clark would never allow her to grow into the person she wanted to be, so she left for Paris. This was a turning point for her character, for although she still had feelings for Clark, she knew she couldn't allow him to hold her back from pursuing her dreams. Lana's controversial relationship with Lex Luthor sparked a lot of heated debate and criticism toward her character. Her tendency to see the best in others drove her into this relationship and the painful experiences that came with it. At the same time, it brought out darkness in Lana that the audience had never seen before. In the end, she was able to beat Lex at his own game and was no longer at the mercy of her emotions.
We saw her protect Clark the way he had always protected her and she grew to a fuller understanding of who she was and what she was capable of. Her last scene on the show had her tell Clark that she knew what she wanted to do with her life. It had her on an equal playing field with Superman himself. While they physically could not be together, Lana had finally reached a place where she no longer relied on others and realized that she was deserving of a place in the world. It hasn't always been easy following Lana's journey, and there were many instances where I disagreed with her actions. Yet as I sit here reflecting on her character now, I realize I could not have asked for a better role model to grow up with. Despite her jaded past and the mistakes she made, she was able to overcome and accept the flaws she knew she had. At the same time, she learned to recognize the better qualities within herself and she fought for them in order to make the world a better place. On that final note, I think we can all stand to learn a little something from Lana Lang."

Even more online news articles reporting on Kristin Kreuk's casting in The CW's 'Beauty & the Beast':
From ivillage.com
"Kristin Kreuk grew up before our eyes, playing the lovely Lana Lang on The CW's Smallville. Now 29, she's set to play the beautiful Belle on that network's fairy-tale-inspired, Beauty and the Beast. (This show, by the way, is not to be confused with the animated Beauty and the Beast series that's set to air on ABC). The series is an edgy, modern-day version of the Disney tale, with Kreuk portraying a New York City homicide detective who solves crimes with the help of a disfigured military vet. And it's just one of several promising new shows that will try to capture our hearts (or, at least, a portion of our TV-viewing time) this fall."

"The remake will star Kristin Kreuk of "Smallville" fame. The former Lana Lang will play a homicide detective with the NYPD who comes across Vincent, the victim of a military experiment gone wrong..."If it's well written and if they get a good chemistry between Kristin Kreuk and whoever is cast as the beast then there's no reason lightning can't strike twice with the same idea," Simpson said. One aspect of the remake is already sitting very well with fans of the original series: The casting of Kreuk as Catherine. "Most of the fans who have watched CW shows for years know her and respect her talents," Baca wrote. Simpson believes Kreuk, who also starred in the television movie "Snow White: The Fairest of Them All," is the "right sort of person" for this role thanks to her previous experience in the fantasy and scientific genres. "She's been down that road before with the various plot lines in 'Smallville,'" he said."

US Magazine's "What's In My Bag?" highlighting Emily Procter's purse contents: - "CSI Miami's Emily Procter: Waht's In My Bag?" - "Emily Procter's Celine tote doubles as a diaper bag!
"When my daughter was born, I said, "I'm getting a nice bag for us both," says the CSI: Miami star, who's mom to Pippa, 14 months (with musician Paul Bryan). "It separates in the center, so splitting things up is easy!" she adds. "On Pippa's side, I keep a travel size Aquaphor. I can use it for diaper cream or boo-boos. And it's a great lip balm and hand lotion for me!" "On my side, I keep By Terry lipstick in the Plumping Nude shade. I always have lipstick -- I'm Southern! I took a makeup course so that people wouldn't be like, 'Oh, I saw that girl from CSI: Miami and she looked sad.'"I always carry EO hand santizer spray. I'm no germ freak, though. Friends will look at us and say, 'Is that a shoe in Pippa's mouth?!' I'm like, 'Yeah, it is. She'll live." Procter keeps her money and credit cards in a cute green and gold Stephanie Johnson pouch. "I only have two credit cards, one ATM card, cash and my driver's license" the actress details about the contents of her wallet. The actress' collapsible nylon strawberry-shaped tote bag minimizes both her carbon footprint and her daughter's meltdowns. "[The bag] is really soft so that's something she can always play with, and it makes for a great shopping bag."

More Internet articles announcing the casting of Jadin Gould as Lana Lang in "Man of Steel":
From: slashfilm.com
"Here's some pretty late-breaking casting news for Zack Snyder's new Superman film, Man of Steel. While we know that Lois Lane will be the primary female lead in the film, played by Amy Adams, now we know for certain that ground is being laid to include another romantic interest for Superman alter-ego Clark Kent (Henry Cavill). A past romantic interest, at least. Jadin Gould (Battle: Los Angeles, The Mentalist, Chuck) has been cast as a young Lana Lang, and will appear in at least one flashback to Clark Kent's childhood in Smallville, likely opposite Dylan Sprayberry as the young Kent. Lang is traditionally the first of Kent's 'double-L' entanglements, before he runs into Lois Lane and Lex Luthor. Oddly, Gould could almost pass for a young Kristin Kreuk, who played Lang on Smallville."

"If your a die hard Super Man fan, like a lot of comic book peeps tend to be, then you probably would know who Lana Lang is.... If you don't know who she is though, well, Lana Lang is the teenaged girlfriend of Clark Kent's in the comic books, on TV and even in the movies! So far those that we know of who have played this role to name a few would be, Kristin Kreuk (Vampire) and Annette O'Toole (It), and now it looks like for the new Superman, for the new generation, that according to Comingsoon, that actress, Jadin Gould (Battle Los Angeles), is gearing up to take over the role as Lana the youngster!"

Jadin Gould recently appeared in Battle: Los Angeles, and has been featured in guest starring roles on Rizzoli & Isles, The Forgotten, and The Mentalist."

"In casting news, Man of Steel has added Jadin Gould as young Lana Lang, with rumours that Dylan Sprayberry has already been cast as the young Clark Kent in the Superman new film. Due to Zack Snyder's state that his version of Superman will be about the superhero's origins and part of that includes teen years, 13-year-old Gould will seize the role of Kent's first girlfriend from his childhood in Smallville."

"Despite production being in full swing since last summer, it seems that it's never too late to add another classic Superman character into Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. The Superman Super Site has confirmed that a younger version of Lana Lang will be making an appearance in the 2013 summer release, with 13-year old actress Jadin Gould set to play the part. The news of the possible flashback scene between a younger Clark and Lang comes months after set photos confirmed that the Smallville school will be shown in the Warner Bros. Pictures release.
The Lang character launched in the 1950's in issue #50 of Superboy and appeared in Superman: The Movie and Superman III by thespians Diane Sherry and Annette O'Toole, respectively. Most recently actress Kristen Kreuk played the character in the "Smallville" series."

It's official! Actress Jadin Gould is set to play Lana Lang in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel". The following are some of the articles highlighting this bit of 'Lana Lang' casting:
From: supermansupersite.com
"The Superman Super Site has received confirmation from Judy Landis of 'Landis - Simon Productions' that her client, Jadin Gould has been cast as a young Lana Lang in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, "Man of Steel." The young actress will portray the character as a thirteen-year-old teenager during Clark Kent's childhood years in Smallville."
From: cinemablend.com
"Considering that Zack Snyder managed to get Kevin Costner and Diane Lane to play Ma and Pa Kent in the upcoming Man of Steel, we can probably expect that a good portion of the film is going to be set in Superman's hometown of Smallville. It's already been confirmed that the movie will be partially retelling Supes' origin story, but if that includes his childhood in Kansas, doesn't that mean they should be casting some of Clark Kent's friends? The answer is apparently yes.
The Superman Super Site (via Coming Soon) has confirmed that Jadin Gould has been hired to play a young Lana Lang in Man of Steel...There have been reports that Superman will return to Smallville as an adult in Man of Steel to do battle with Zod, but it's interesting to know that there will be enough of a back story to include a 13-year-old Lana Lang."
From: comingsoon.net
"Zack Snyder's Man of Steel has added another famous character from the Superman mythos to the production, albeit in a younger form than fans might have been expecting. Superman Super Site confirms today that 13-year-old Jadin Gould will play a young Lana Lang in a flashback scene to Clark Kent's Smallville childhood.
First appearing in 1950's Superboy #50, Lana is the teenage girlfriend of young Clark. She was a central character in the television series, "Smallville" (played by Kristin Kreuk) and has also appeared as a teenager on the big screen in 1978's Superman: The Movie (played by Diane Sherry) and later as an adult, re-entering Clark's life in Superman III (Played by Annette O'Toole, who would later play Martha Kent on "Smallville")."

"Zack Snyder's not done casting for Man of Steel. Sure, he's got Superman, Lois Lane, and Perry White, but what about Lana Lang? Apparently, Clark's Smallville sweetheart also gets some screen time in Snyder's Superman reboot. According to the Superman Super Site, a young actress named Jadin Gould has joined the Man of Steel cast. She'll play the character as a 13-year-old, who knows Clark during his early years. Unfortunately, Lana only appears in a flashback, but we hope she does something interesting. It would be a shame to waste such a great character...Since Lang's scene will be a flashback, we wonder what makes Clark think of her? Does Lois bring on the memory or does something bad happen?"
