A great 'oldie-but-goodie' article from ign.com highlighting 'Smallville', 'Superboy'(60s), and 'Superboy' (80s). It was published in 2000 and contains some great information about each and every one of these three T.V. shows that predominantly featured Lana Lang. - On Smallville - "...But what about this Young Clark Kent series? Comments like "Dawson's Creek in tights" have been floating around the Internet since the announcement. While it's likely that the series will have young, pretty stars, the big question is which young Clark Kent will they be using? The current DC history of the character has Clark Kent not going the cape and tights route until he goes to the big city. According to the statement from the WB, in the new series, being produced by Tollin / Robbins (the company who had been developing a Bruce Wayne series), Clark Kent will be exploring his newfound powers..." On Superboy (60s) - "The first time Superboy was considered for television was back in 1960. The producers of the original Adventures of Superman considered reviving the series even though their star, George Reeves, was dead. A pilot for a Superboy series was shot starring an actor named John Rockwell. The series, set in Smallville, Kansas, featured Lana Lang and would have introduced Lex Luthor later in the series..." On Superboy (80s) - "...With Reeve becoming less and less willing to strap on the big red S, the Salkind's came up with the idea of using a younger version of the character. So Superboy was born again, this time being portrayed by actor John Haymes Newton (who later went on to perform in the Untouchables television series and FOX's Melrose Place) and Stacy Haiduk (SeaQuest, Kindred: The Embraced, Brimstone) as Clark's love interest, Lana Lang..."

In 1988, Superman celebrated his 50th birthday and in honor of this special occasion 'Time Magazine' dedicated its cover and a feature article on 'The Man of Steel'. Comic book writer and artist, John Byrne created the special celebratory 'Superman' cover as well as the comic drawing insert that went along with the write-up. The comic artwork showcased many of 'Superman's' friends (and foe) wishing him a very happy birthday. In attendance were Jimmy Olsen, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Batman, Robin, Lex Luthor, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Pete Ross, Lois Lane, Perry White, and of course Lana Lang. This is the Lana mention in the ariticle: "At one point during the age of suburban "togetherness," Superman's keepers actually married him off to Lois Lane, but they soon explained that the bride had only dreamed of her wedding. Since those keepers were generally desperate for new plot twists, they often amused themselves by bringing in rivals to Lois. Lana Lang, for example, was an old acquaintance of Kent's from Smallville who applied for a job at the Planet..."
