The Man of Steel – A comic book series published by DC Comics in 1986 that was designed to reboot the entire Superman mythos. After the events that took place in Crisis on Infinite Earth, DC decided to give Superman an updated look by completely rewriting his history. Therefore, Man of Steel became the dividing point between the previous canon and the current one. Many comic fans refer to the two different versions as "Pre-Crisis" and "Post-Crisis". This comic book run begins with The Man of Steel #1 published in October of 1986 and officially ends with issue #6 in December 1986. Lana Lang makes her first appearance in this series in The Man of Steel #1 (October 1986) and her first cover appearance in The Man of Steel #6 (December 1986).
