Action Comics (1938 Series)

Action Comics – A comic book series first published under Detective Comics, Inc., and then as National Comics then as National Periodical Publications, before taking on its current name of DC Comics. It is the series in which Superman is first introduced. This 1938 series is also the first of two with the same title (see 'Action Comics' 2011 series).The comic book run begins with Action Comics #1 published in April 1938 and officially ends with issue #904 in October 2011. Lana Lang makes her first appearance in this series in Action Comics #247 (December 1958) and her first cover appearance in Action Comics #259 (December 1959).
