How sexy? Well, I know it is all subjective and that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder', and 'it's what's inside that counts'...and so on. However, when compiling Kristin's list of 'acknowledgements' for her bio page, I couldn't help but be amazed at the number of times she has appeared on these 'sexy' lists over the years. There has been A LOT of online buzz surrounding Kristin Kreuk's casting as 'Beauty' in The CW's 'Beauty and the Beast' Pilot. Don't believe me? Then just take a peek over at our 2012 News Archive. Heck, even NASDAQ (Stock Market) has reported this bit of casting news. However, the focus now seems to be on who will be cast as 'Beast'. ClevverNews YouTube channel has some suggestions and among them, is non other than Kristin's former 'Smallville' co-star Tom Welling.
It is apparant that many fans find Tom Welling to be a great choice to play 'Beast' as evident in the channel's comments section as well as in a facebook group page created to promote exactly that.
I love Kristin Kreuk. I love Tom Welling. I loved watching them both on 'Smallville'. I think it is great to see fans love and care so much for these actors and their on-screen chemistry to want to see them together again. Like many of my fellow 'sweet' friends, I wouldn't mind it too...someday...down the road...maybe. I have to be honest and say that as much as I love Tom and Kristin and their portrayal of Clark and Lana, I would prefer to see Kristin break away from her 'Smallville' ties and work with someone entirely new. But, hey that's just me.
If you, however, would like to see Tom Welling play 'Beast' alongside Kristin, you can join others in the 'Tom Welling to Play Vincent (Beast)' facebook group -HERE
I've written a brief summary of Superboy's history in our "Comics" section.
"In order to better understand Lana Lang's history, it is important to take a closer look into 'Superboy's' own rich history. It is, after all, within the pages of "Superboy #10" where we first meet Lana Lang making her comic book debut on October of 1950. Now, I am no expert. I am just a fan looking to learn more about my favorite character and in the process, I've discovered a complex 'Superboy' origin filled with drastic changes and one often overshadowed with controversy.
The idea of Superboy was developed by Superman writer and co-creator Jerry Siegel back in 1941, but his "proposed series starring Superman 'before he developed a social conscience' didn't go anywhere". There are claims that Siegel had been trying to get Superboy approved but, that his idea was continually getting turned down by Detective Comics, Inc. It wasn't until they saw the success of Robin, the Boy Wonder and other similar kid superhero characters by the mid-40s, that they finally saw Superboy's potential..."TO READ MORE

Continuing with the 'Kristin Kreuk Love', here is an article from 'FHM' (October 2002) highlighting '10 Things You Didn't Know About Kristin Kreuk'. Granted, if you are a KK fan, chances are already know them. If so, then maybe just enjoy the pretty pictures...
"The show chronicles an adolescent Superman as he discovers his otherworldly powers and lusts after his sugary-sweet classmate. It became an instant smash last fall when its first episode achieved the best ratings of any debut show in the history of The WB. Critics praised Smallville's fresh take on the classic superhero, while viewers – at least the male portion of them – became infatuated with Kristin's undeniable appeal. So infatuated, in fact, they've been counting the days until this fall's September 24 premiere of the second season. For those who simply can't wait to get more of the sultry 19-year old, here's a little something to tide you over...
10 -She plays a character steeped in history
Lana Lang first appeared in Superboy comic No. 10 in 1950 as Clark Kent's childhood honey-32 years before Kristin was born. Her character was also featured in the late '80s Superboy series, as well as Superman III and Lois & Clark. When asked which character she would date on Smallville, Kristin chose bad boy Lex Luthor over Clark. The good girls always do."
Here are a few more online articles reporting on Kristin Kreuk's casting in The CW's 'Beauty & the Beast' Pilot. The more I read about it, the more I like it. Hopefully it gets picked-up!
"The CW isn't straying too far for the Beauty of its update of the '80s Linda Hamilton-Ron Perlman romantic drama: They've cast Smallville's Lana Lang, Kristin Kreuk, as the NYPD detective on the hunt for the monstrous man who saved her life..."read more
"Former "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk has landed one of the lead roles in The CW's "Beauty and the Beast" pilot. (Hint: It's not the Beast.) Kreuk will play an NYPD detective in the pilot, Deadline reports. The show is kinda-sorta based on the late-1980s CBS series that starred Linda Hamilton (whose character was a prosecutor) and Ron Perlman..."Beauty and the Beast" will be the first series-regular role for Kreuk since she left "Smallville" a few seasons back. She had a recurring part on "Chuck" in 2010 and, oddly enough, was also approached for ABC's "Beauty and the Beast" pilot this season. That version sounds as though it will lean more to the fairy-tale side of the story..."read more
"The CW didn't have to look far to find its Beauty.Deadline reports that former "Smallville" star Kristin Kreuk has been cast as the titular looker for the network's "Beauty and the Beast" pilot. Though it may sound like Kristin is forming a tendency towards fantasy-based television, the show is actually an exciting revamp of a beloved '80s series that does not include any talking clocks or candlesticks. What it does include, is the exploration of a rousing relationship between two tantalizing characters, one of course being Kristin's Catherine..."read more

The Superman website fortressofbaileytude.com, is currently highlighting various characters from the 1990s comic book series "Who's Who in the DC Universe." In part 3 of their "Who's Who" spotlight, they uploaded scans of Superman's supporting cast, Ma & Pa Kent as well as one featuring Lana Lang with Pete Ross.
This 1990s comic book series was an ecyclopedia of sorts presented in loose-leaf issues with artwork highlighting a DC character along with a one page bio reflecting the character's status of that time period (Early 90s - 'The Man of Steel' origin). Lana Lang is also mentioned and pictured in the "Ma & Pa Kent" bio page. Very Cool!
Several online news media are reporting that our very own Kristin Kreuk has been cast as the female lead in The CW's 'Beauty & The Beast' Pilot. Awesome!
"Smallville's Kristin Kreuk is heading back to the CW. The Canadian actress best known for playing Lana Lang for close to a decade has been tapped to star in the younger-skewing network's Beauty and the Beast. The project, loosely based on the 1980s CBS series of the same name, is a modern-day romantic love story with a procedural twist..."read more

Loosely based on the 1980s CBS series starring Linda Hamilton, CW's Beauty And The Beast is described as a modern-day romantic love story with a procedural twist. It centers on Catherine (Kreuk), a tough-minded NYPD homicide detective haunted by witnessing her mother's murder nine years ago and the killers' quick demise at the hands of a Beast..."read more
"The CW's Beauty and the Beast update has found a most worthy — one might say super — successor to Linda Hamilton: Kristin Kreuk. The Smallville alumna has landed the female lead in the hour-long pilot, a reboot of the classic '80s series that ran on CBS from 1987 to 1990 and starred Ron Perlman as the mythic man beast and Hamilton as the object of his affection..."read more
