The website 'MovieSniped.com' posted for auction a very cool Smallville replica prop of the "Stone of knowledge." Click to Enlarge "This is a smallville stone of knowledge airstone prop replica. This is the pewter stone (silver). This stone is hollow on the inside. This has been on display and well taken care of...The black stone and red cloth are not included in this auction..." ~ moviesniped.com
Unfortunately, for anyone interested the eBay auction for this prop ended a while ago. It sold for 405.00 U.S. dollars. The 'stone of knowledge' played a central part throughout the show's 4th season. Most notably in the episode "Sacred" when Lana, while possessed by her ancestor Isobel, battled it out with Clark for it. Also, in the second image above, you will see "Lana's stone" containing the Kryptonian symbol connected with Lana. Season 4 - Episode "Sacred"

A fan made "Smallville: Lana Lang" custom figure created by manomight1974. According to the website figurerealm.com, the figure is composed of two parts: A Diamond Delect 'Angel' Season 2 Darla body and a DC Direct 'Smallville' Series 1 Lana Lang head. Very simple, but effective in creating a 'Bad-Ass' looking Lana. It measures 5.50 inches.
"Smallville Lana Lang" by manomight1974 "...All I did was a simple head swap, putting the Lana head on the Darla body, and TA-DA...Smallville's own Lana Lang!!!!" ~ manomight1974

Kristin Kreuk was interviewed by Vancouver's Metro News promoting her upcoming new film "Ecstasy". During her interview she was asked if she ever missed 'Smallville'...
Do you ever miss Smallville? It was a fantastic experience and I loved doing it. I miss certain people in the show, but I don't miss doing it. Would you ever want to be cast as a leading lady in another superhero movie? Yeah, depending on what it is. I saw the latest X-Men and I really liked the depth that they're bringing in and the actors that they're casting. If ever I had the opportunity to be considered in a movie like that, it would ... be really interesting.

Back in February I highlighted a very cool fan-fic that touched on the question: "What would happen if Superboy lost his powers and Lana Lang became Supergirl?." The story was written by the creative duo of Team Acenaut and illustrated by the talented ARTGK. Can't remember? Click Here. I was contacted by one of the writers, Argonaut, informing me that due to a "major relaunch" the links to the story have been moved. Click To Enlarge "My co-author and I have been at work on this story for several years now and posting it, a chapter at a time, at SuperWomenMania.com. (He goes by the handle "Ace," I'm "Argonaut" -- hence "Team Acenaut.") A few months ago SWM underwent a major relaunch, and currently only the last three chapters (out of 24) have been re-posted in the StoryBank -- although members are at work "re-seeding" the archive. In the meantime, the administrator has cached the older chapters...Those older chapters include some illustrations that TGK hasn't posted on his Deviant Art page...Until the earlier chapters join them, your members can read the whole story by following these links: Chapters 1-9: Click Here Chapter 10: Click Here Chapters 11-16: Click Here Chapter 17: Click Here Chapter 18: Click Here Chapter 19: Click Here Chapter 20: Click Here Chapter 21: Click Here For Chapters 22-24, go to www.superwomenmania.com . Click on "SWM Fiction," then "Stories by Title." The chapters are listed under "T." Ace and I have drafted most of Chapter 25. I'll let you know when it's posted (by the end of the month, we hope). Feedback is welcome... ~Argonaut

Comic Con 2011 has come and gone. Talk about one giant sensory overload. I feel like I have been placed into a giant blender along side about 100,000 people with a dash of celebrities, a sprinkle of merchandise and a whole LOT of pop culture and comic imagery and given a whirl. What a ride. My laptop must have sensed the chaos because it decided not to let me log on for a few days. Thankfully, we are both back and up and running, well my laptop is anyway. So what happened you ask? What news do I bring on the Lana Lang front? Well, here is my quick break-down on what I saw and heard in terms of Lana Lang: Click to Enlarge The 'New 52' Basically, DC continued to pitch the idea that the new 52 books will be hits. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen. There was such a mixed buzz among fans regarding the new reboot at the convention. Some seem all for it while others absolutely hate the changes taking place. So, it is still hard to tell what the final verdict will be. Anyway, there were several tid-bits revealed during the '52' panel regarding the upcoming issues along with artist renditions shown of some of its pages, but nothing on Lana was mentioned. So, if you are interested in learning more on what was said and revealed in this panel in terms of the 'DC Universe', check out CBR's thorough recap of it here.
Over in the Superman panel, writer Grant Morisson revealed that Action Comics will take place five years before present continuity showcasing how Superman got his costume and supporting cast. He stated that his Superman will be "younger", "aggressive", "brash", "outgoing", and "proactive." Then, Superman: Earth One writer J. Michael Straczynski spoke about his Superman rendition and his upcoming 'Earth One' sequel. Again, sadly, nothing on Lana Lang and her role (if any) in the new reboot was brought up or asked. There were a lot of people in attendance and I didn't get the chance to go up and ask anything during their Q&A segment. So, if you are still interested in learning more regarding the upcoming series of 'Superman' books, check out CBR's recap of the panel here. Now, I don't want to end this on such a 'Lana Lang' downer. So, I have two exciting bits of news to share with you. The first one is....I met Lana Lang!!! No, no I haven't gone completely bonkers or anything. I am completely serious when I say that I met Lana Lang. Yup, I had the great pleasure of spending a wonderful time with the gracious and super talented Stacy Haiduk, 'THE' Lana Lang from the 1980s "Superboy" television series!! It was such an amazing experience! I will post all about it later...once I have fully recuperated and can think straight once again. Stacy Haiduk
The second bit of 'Lana' news is that I was able to attend the exclusive screening of "Batman: Year One", which was AMAZING!! It was very faithful to Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli's award-winning 1987 graphic novel, with very little deviation. I highly recommend it to all you Batman fans out there. Ok, so what does this have to do with Lana? Well, following the screening of the animation movie was a panel discussion with Executive Producer Bruce Timm, directors Sam Liu and Lauren Montgomery, casting / dialogue director Andrea Romano, and voice cast members Bryan Cranston (James Gordon), Ben McKenzie (Bruce Wayne/Batman) and Katee Sackhoff (Sarah Essen). During the discussion the big announcement was made that "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" will be adapted into an animated feature as a two-parter! In the original source comic, Lana Lang makes an appearance as a older woman defending Batman: Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Now whether or not Lana Lang will actually appear in the animated film remains to be seen, but one can hope...right?!
Well, that is it for the SDCC 2011 'Lana Lang' round-up...yea, I know, not much. Hopefully, there will be some good news on Lana's character once the new books start coming out. |

We weren't allowed to take pictures of Kristin Kreuk during her appearance at Comic-Con 2008, but that didn't stop me and a few others to capture the moment...

| The Day I met Kristin Kreuk – SDCC 2008
I have posted several Kristin Kreuk fan encounters here in this blog that I guess it is only fitting that I post my own. Also, my fan encounter occurred while attending San Diego's Comic Con, so now at the eve of this years' convention, I couldn't think of a more appropriate time to post it. Here goes: A few weeks before the start of Comic-Con 2008, the gaming developer CAPCOM announced on their website that Kristin Kreuk would be signing autographs at the convention promoting her new film "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" (She played the ass kicking heroine Chun-Li). I had purchased my Con passes months in advance so I was elated to discover I was going to get the chance to meet my favorite actor who portrayed my all time favorite character - Lana Lang. I woke up bright and early at 6 am Thursday morning even though the convention doors didn't open until 9:30 am. I wanted to make sure I had a place in line. I had also stopped by the CAPCOM booth the day before to stake out the place and verify where the line would be. I was going to do everything in my power for this very rare chance to meet her. My diligence paid off because I was second in line...second! The guys at CAPCOM were shocked to see several fans already lining up since Kristin was not scheduled to arrive until noon. As the morning wore on, the line kept getting bigger and bigger. The line seemed to consist of mostly males salivating in anticipation of seeing Kristin in person. Well the guys around me were....ok who am I kidding I was too hahaha. I was so nervous. I guess the anticipation of meeting someone I had spent A LOT of time talking about, admiring and enjoying their work SO MUCH...well, it just got to me. I was literally shaking all over as the time of her arrival drew near. Finally, the wait was over. Kristin Kreuk had arrived. The whole place seemed to come alive at the moment. There were TONS of people. Not only the large number of fans that had gathered, but also there were a lot of "Event Staff Pro" people combined with CAPCOM staff, "official" Fox staff (the movie studio producing the film), and her own personal security guards. It was one giant mass of humanity. Luckily, I was right up in front and had a clear view of Kristin Kreuk's arrival. I saw her walk down the stairs where a gaming area had been set up and walked towards a booth that had been set up for her. She took a seat and looked around genuinely surprised at the number of people waiting to meet her. She was wearing a beautiful long and flowing black and white dress. She looked very elegant and very beautiful. It was just so surreal to see her in person. The guy who had beaten me to the front of the line was the first one to walk up to her. I tried taking a picture, but was quickly told I wasn't allowed. The 'Fox' network wouldn't allow ANYONE to take ANY pictures of her, which was VERY disappointing. I don't know why they were being so strict about it. Then, it was my turn. Since, everything was still getting into a controllable rhythm I surprisingly had a nice length of time talking to her. I first walked up to her nervous as hell. After so much anticipation, I swear my heart was beating 100x a minute, which is so unlike me. As I approached, she was the first one to say "Hi" with a lovely, friendly smile and asked for my name. She was personalizing the autographs. I told her and held up my Comic-Con pass that had my name on it and then I blanked out for a mini-second. I couldn't talk...again, so unlike me. Maybe she saw the panic in my eyes or is used to this type of non-responsive reaction evoked when meeting fans that she was the one to initiate the conversation. She asked if "I was having a good time" and I said "yes" and just like that I came back from the cloud I was in and reacted...thank god haha. I told her I was a big fan of hers (understatement of the year) and that I love her on "Smallville", which made me remember I had brought a 'Smallville' Magazine for her to sign (the one where she is on the cover) and she did. I then told her I really enjoyed her heartbreaking performance in "Partition" in which she smiled really big and nodded her head agreeing that it was a very sad film. I also told her that I thought her work on 'Girls by Design' was wonderful. I guess by this point she realized I was indeed a BIG fan of hers. She told me to keep my eye out for any new GBD newsletter. I said that I would and thanked her. Throughout our exchange she had the friendliest smile and thanked me after every compliment...very sweet. Of course by that time there was no shutting me up. Luckily for her, the security guard signaled that my time was up... I gave her a 'thumbs up' and she gave me 'thumbs up' back. I told her: "We love you very much Kristin" right before I left. I don't know if she found it odd that I said "we" instead of "I" but I was thinking of all of her fans present and not present when saying the collective 'We'. Hopefully, her fan interaction was a positive one for her as it was for this one very devoted fan of hers. Kristin was so SWEET and WONDERFUL...I later learned that she stayed several hours after her scheduled time signing autographs for all of the fans that had been waiting in line.
Thank you Kristin for such a wonderful fan experience one I will never forget!
