Q&A with Kristin Kreuk

A great Kristin Kreuk 'Q&A' from vanmag.com:

blog_kristin_kreuk_02Photo: David Fierro

You starred on Smallville for eight seasons. How did that come about?

"In Grade 12, my drama teacher at Eric Hamber told me about an audition for a CBC show called Edgemont. I got a lead role, but I didn't know how to act for the camera. I'd only done theatre. The casting director, Carole Tarlington, really championed me, sending me out. Eventually, at age 18, I was cast in Smallville. That role, Lana Lang, was so sweet."

"After watching smallville tonight, seeing how painful it was for clark to see Lana dead...really got imprinted in my head. So I just started to doodle a sketch of Clark holding Lana in his arms, crying as she beautifully lies still...I wanted to go for the superman animted style and verisons of Clark and Lana. I liked coloring this cuz it was so simple, so hopefully more Lana drawings soon." ~ AkioLust

Kristin Kreuk - Arena Photo-Shoot 2002

Latest images added to our 'World of Lana Lang Gallery'!

Kristin Kreuk's 'Arena' photo-shoot and article from August 2002 promoting 'Smallville':

blog_KK_arena_2002

Photographs by: Sheyrl Nields

"...Fast forward two years to the present and 19-year-old Kreuk has just completed the first season of US TV show Smallville (subtitled The Young Adventures of Superman for us Brits). An overnight success [], it's premiere episode achieved the best ratings for a debuting show in the WB channel's history. But it wasn't just its mixture of X-Files-Dawson's Creek storylines that drew attention, it was Kreuk's portrayal as the sweet and innocent Lana Lang – object of Clark Kent's unrequited affection – that had six million viewers in the US and three million in the UK tuning in each week..." ~ Arena (August 2002)

Janet Waldo On her 'Ageless' Career

A great interview with the amazing and talented actress Janet Waldo by ComicMix in which she looks back and reflects on her remarkable and enduring career. Now, if her name doesn't sound familiar to some of you, her voice definitely will. The now, 87 year old actress has been the voice of many memorable and beloved animated characters such as Judy Jetson ("The Jetsons"), Josie McCoy ("Josie and the Pussycats"), Penelope Pitstop ("Wacky Races") and of course Lana Lang ("The Adventures of Superboy").

bios_subpage_janet_waldoanimation_subpage_01_superboy_1966

"Waldo was no teen while she spent the 1960s as Judy Jetson and even Lana Lang on The Adventures of Superman. She found no difficulty in recapturing that youthful spirit and differentiating one teen from another. "I like the challenge of a real acting role. Judy Jetson was so easy for me, I played myself. So was Corliss but they were different teenagers with Corliss being snippier while Judy was ebullient. I love challenges as an actor. I totally enjoyed it, and the teen roles were very easy to do, it was relaxed and I had fun. I love the challenge of a heavy dramatic role, but I love Judy Jetson and each teenager has a different attitude and different lifestyle."

Lois Lane More Like Lana Lang?

A few Behind-the-scene images of Amy Adams filming a scene for the upcoming 'Superman' movie were leaked a few weeks ago. Hmmmmm look familiar?

blog_amy_adams_superman_reboot_02     blog_amy_adams_superman_reboot

From whatculture.com

"A blonde haired, Smallville-esque jeans wearing, girl next door version of Amy Adams as Lois Lane was spotted yesterday in Plano, Illinois, where Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man of Steel is currently filming...All these images do is remind me that Adams should have kept her recongisable red hair and just played Lana Lang, but hey... that might just be me."

Nope...not just you. Especially, when seeing so many pictures of the 'Smallville' set being released like the ones highlighted at supermanhomepage.com. The thought of Lana not being in the film is so disappointing, but hey...that might just be me.
