Oldie But, Goodie: Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan were interviewed by Jen Dalton from TheCW Cincinnati, Ohio station back in October of last year. In the interview, they talked about their roles in 'Beauty and the Beast' and their fan experience at ComicCon. Kristin also talked about her martial arts skills and Lana Lang!

"Jen Dalton: Kristin, you're no stranger obviously to TheCW we saw you for many seasons on 'Smallville' as Lana Lang. So, this is very familiar territory doing kind of a supernatural kind of show for you but, this also seems very different than your Lana character. She was very sweet. This character although may seem sweet, but is also very seems kind of gritty and strong and I know you had to do some martial arts in the show as well. What kind of training did you have to do to prepare for this role?

Kristin Kreuk: Well, its funny because I....Yeah, Lana was incredibly sweet and wonderful and all those things and I think for me I grew up doing martial arts. Like I was in Karate from like 3rd grade to 10th grade and I also you know, did gymnastics and dance. So, all of that training is coming to play for Catherine for me. I get to just...and I did this movie 'Street Fighter' as well, so I did a bunch of training for that. So, all of those things, that I am actually fairly capable with, I get to utilize which I didn't as much with Lana, although I did a little bit."

Stacy Haiduk was interviewed by 'MegaPodzilla' and talked about her new role on HBO's 'True Blood', her new film, 'King of Miseries', and of course her role as Lana Lang in the 80s 'The Adventures of Superboy'! Stacy also revealed having had auditioned for a role in 'Beauty and the Beast'! Whaaaat?!

MP: ...We were watching season2 of Superboy...One thing we thought was really cool was you did a couple Dracula episodes...

Stacy Haiduk: I did. I did. Maybe they knew I was going to have a future *laughs* Somewhere. *laughs* Yea, I did. I loved that episode...I loved working on that one. Cuz, it was kind of Lana being able to get out of the normal...you know, she got to be the bad person for a little bit, which I liked.

MP: What was your knowledge of Lana Lang before you took the role?

SH: God, you know, my only knowledge of Lana Lang was probably, the first 'Superman' movie she was in it a little bit and then Annette O'Toole played her in what?...those are the only movies I [saw]...was it 'Superman III'? And I remember from that but, that's pretty much all I knew about Lana Lang. I didn't realize they even made a 'Superboy' series I guess it was in 1960, was it? or earlier? Did they only do the pilot? I remember just seeing one episode. Then, I started seeing the comic books, but that was probably the closest. I was a fan of Christopher Reeve, absolutely, going into the 'Superboy' series, but again, I didn't know much. I knew Lois Lane and I knew that character more than I did the Lana character, but I like Lana. I think she is pretty...she is pretty groovy!"

MP: I agree!...Did you over the years, have you met any of the other actresses that have played the role like Annette O'Toole or Kristin Kreuk?

SH: No, no I've never gotten the opportunity. I hear Annette O'Toole got to play on 'Smallville'. I didn't get the chance. I even auditioned, I remember for um 'Beauty and the Beast' and I thought oh, that would be kind of funny to see the two Lana Langs, but I don't think they think that way when they're producing these things or the episodes. I don't know if they think, 'Oh, wouldn't it been fun to put the two Lanas'...you know. I don't think they think that *laughs* but, I think it would have been fun!

I would've loved to have seen Stacy on 'smallville' :( Oh my...Stacy Haiduk making a guest appearance on 'Beauty and the Beast' indeed would've been pretty cool and 'fun'! I can totally see her play a Muirfield baddie! Who knows, there is still a chance next season ;) Great interview!

So, I was thrilled when 'Beauty and the Beast' began creating these awesome comic pages as promo teasers for their upcoming 'BATB' episodes. The creative force behind these online comics is Sarah Hernandez (writer) and Andy Holmes (artwork) and both do a marvelous job bringing the CW's 'BATB' world into this art-form. So, it was a real thrill to get an exclusive 'BATB' comic and meet the 'dynamic duo' behind them at this year's 'WonderCon'. The great news is that all Beasties can now enjoy this exclusive gem! Recently, the 'Beauty and the Beast' official site BATBnation has made it available online...

It looks like we are in for a 'VinCat' sexy good time. A pool party for two! It is rather refreshing seeing Catherine and Vincent having some fun after so much seriousness and life threatening situations they've had to face lately...

Beasties get ready to ROAR!!! After so much nail biting anticipation, the CW has just announced 'Beauty and the Beast' is a 'Go' for Season 2! YES! The news comes almost three weeks before its scheduled 'Upfront' announcement...much to the relief of many fans. In a press release, the CW President Mark Pedowitz said the network is "very excited" to bring back 'Beauty And The Beast' for next season and that the "series continues to be creatively strong and compelling, and their fans are incredibly passionate." Oh yes they are!! To celebrate this occasion, it is only fitting to highlight an awesome fan video made honoring 'BATB' and its amazing Beastie fandom:
