Superboy: The Complete Second Season DVD
|
Look what came in the mail today!!
Then I flipped it around and... "Meet The Original Lana Luthor!"?! Two things came to my mind: First, wow, it is super cool that Lana is prominently shown and pimped on the back cover. It is obvious they are catering to the 'Smallville' fans. Second, eww! 'Lexana' wasn't one of my favorite 'Smallville' story-lines. I know that Lana never marries Lex in this series (see review below) so I am very curious how they handled the 'Lexana' storyline on this show.
Rennie Cowan from Superboy Theater did a great and very thorough review of this DVD, so if you have some extra time and would like to learn more, be sure to check it out: YouTube Link [Credit: thesuperboytheater Channel]

Stacy Haiduk 'Talks Lana Lang' Interview - Part 9
|
I don't know how I could have missed this one! Here is the ninth segment of Rennie Cowan's interview with the lovely Stacy Haiduk talking about her 'super' co-stars Gerard Christopher and John Haymes Newton. If this is the first you've heard of it...Several months ago, Rennie Cowan from Superboy Theater interviewed Stacy Haiduk regarding her role as Lana Lang in the 1980s 'The Adventures of Superboy' TV series. The interview was divided into several segments and released periodically on YouTube. This interview provides wonderful insight on Lana's character from this often overlooked show.

Annette O'Toole in 'Man of Steel'?
|
Cosmic Booknews got wind that a classic Superman actor will have a role in the upcoming Man of Steel film and some fans are speculating that Annette O'Toole is that actor. The speculation comes from the voice over in the newest 'Man of Steel' trailer. Specifically, the part where your hear a woman's voice say: "My son was in the bus. He saw what Clark did." It is definitely a long shot, but the thought of Annette making a cameo appearance in the film is all kinds of awesome! Take a listen and see what you think? Man of Steel Trailer YouTube Link [Credit: WarnerBrosPictures Channel] From: cosmicbooknews "Word surfaced the other day that a classic Superman actor will have a role in the upcoming Man of Steel movie. The possibilities are endless, but could the identity of the actor have already been known? Maybe we just had to look a little harder? Scratch that. Not look. Listen. CBN reader Andrew Francis pointed out that in the latest Man of Steel trailer where Clark saves the bus, it just might have a voice over by none other than Annette O'Toole. Of course, she played Lana Lang in the Donner movies as well as Ma Kent on Smallville..." To read the complete write-up: CLICK HERE
I am also throwing out my own speculation that Lana Lang (Jadin Gould) is in that 'Bus' scnene shown in the trailer. I guess we shall see who is right this summer. Man of Steel in theaters June 14th, 2013 |
Does Lana Lang Belong with Clark Kent?
|
Who really belongs with Clark Kent? Lois? Chloe? Lana? Well, obviously I have my favorite *looks around* and it seems this yahoo contributer agrees...
From: tv.yahoo "Yes, we all know how the story goes. We all know that this is the final season of "Smallville" and that Clark Kent always ends up with Lois Lane (Erica Durance). But is Lois really the woman for Clark? Wouldn't he be better off with Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) or Chloe Sullivan (Alison Mack)? Here then is each of these women would rate as the better half of Metropolis' Superman.
Lana Lang - The Tragic Girl Next Door Farm breed and raised next door to Clark, Lana was the Man of Steel's first love. Never mind that she somehow ends up being duped into marring Lex Luther (Michael Rosenbaum) by season six (in the episode "Promise"), or that she has relationships with Whitney Fordman (Eric Johnson), Adam Knight (Ian Somerhalder), and Jason Teague (Jensen Ackles) along the way. After all this show spans 10 seasons and Lana spent a good deal of those seasons trying to get a little bit of honesty out of Clark Kent. But let's put all that aside. In the end, Lana never stops loving Clark and in a moment of self sacrifice she leaves Smallville so she doesn't interfere with Clark's ultimate destiny. So how would Lana fare if she were to marry Clark Kent? First, there is their mutual attraction, coupled that with the fact that they have a friendship based on shared history and you have the start of a good relationship. Add to that the fact that Lana grows from a tragic orphaned figure into a self assured woman who doubles as a superhero by season eight, and you end up with a compelling match for Clark. On a 10 point scale then, let's give Lana a solid 8 as a match for Clark. She would rate higher if she hadn't married the show's archvillain..."
Chloe scored between '6 & 7' and Lois was a '5'. To read the complete write-up CLICK HERE

'Stacy Haiduk Lana Lang' Fan Creation by manomight1974
|
A nice fan made "Stacy Haiduk as Lana Lang" custom figure created by manomight1974. I just wished the image was sharper...
"Since we never got a figure of the incomparable and sexy Stacy Haiduk as Lana Lang in the Superboy/Adventures of Superboy TV Series, I set about creating us one. First, I removed the head and arms from a Season 5 Willow body, and repainted the sweater, T-shirt, and shoes to more closely match the outfit worn by Ms. Haiduk in the Season 4 Superboy episode "The Basement". Next, I used my Dremel to excavate out a new hole in the Seaquest DSV Hitchcock head, remove the small portion of neck from it so that the head and the Willow figure's neck could fit together nicely and neatly, and grind down the sides, top and back to more match the Willow head once the hair had been removed...
