"KSiteTV's Top 13 Shows Of 2013 - "#3. Beauty And The Beast (The CW) - Here's a conundrum: Huge, very loyal fan base... "Beasties" are always quick and appreciative to comment on posts... yet the audience has gotten even smaller, especially after the show's move to Monday nights. Recent creative decisions to split the show's titled pair - or at the very least keeping them apart - don't seem to be too popular, though, and the show disappears from The CW schedule in March with a return date TBA. That's not very encouraging. But, again: Loyal fans have stuck by this show... they love the lead actors, Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan... but at what point might enough be enough for some of them? - BATB was #6 last year.

"Beauty and the Beast Sneak Peek: Cat's Big Crisis, a Huge Bombshell and One Bloody Mess - 'When The CW's Beauty and the Beast resumes Season 2 on Monday, Jan. 13, there won't be a lack of fallout from Cat shooting Vincent to save her biological father's life — and we've got a series of photos (garnished with scooplets) from the twisty, turny hour. Per the official logline for the episode "Don't Die on Me," "In order to prevent Vincent from further injuries, Cat helps protect Tori when her life is threatened, revealing a new, unexpected mystery. Meanwhile, Vincent's stubborn attempt to intervene leads to life-changing consequences, which causes Gabe and Cat to grow closer."

In other words: Beasties aren't out of the woods yet, not by any stretch. As I teased on Twitter, "Brace yourselves," because there are some difficult scenes and dialogue to get through, including this exchange: "I thought you loved him?" "I did." Ouch. Past tense. But the "new, unexpected mystery," at least the little that is teased of it, has me curious, hinting at a new branch of the show's mythology. Also, a certain burning question is intriguingly answered."

"Jay Ryan & Kristin Kreuk Voted Hottest TV Stars Of 2013 [POLL]- "We asked you to pick the hottest TV guy and girl of 2013, and after hundreds of thousands of votes, this CW duo reigns supreme! No 'beasts' here! Jay Ryan and Kristin Kreuk are simply beauties in the eyes of HollywoodLife.com readers, who voted the Beauty & The Beast stars as the hottest individual TV guy and girl of 2013.

But honestly, are you really surprised Jay and Kristin received the most love? Their on-screen lovers — Vincent Cassel and Catherine Chandler — have had their fans captivated since the series premiered in Oct. 2012. And as things get more complicated, and more beastly, for the couple in 2014, they'll need to hold onto each other more than ever. Of course, this isn't the first time our readers have shown Jay and Kristin some love. In Sept. 2013, they voted VinCat the TV couple they were most excited to see in the new TV season — and something tells us they weren't disappointed with what they saw!"

"La série inédite Beauty & the Beast débarque sur W9 [Translated Article] - "The series Beauty & the Beast , starring Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan, starts this Sunday, December 22 on W9 ...

Fans of Smallville, missing Kristin Kreuk? The actress, famous for her character of Lana Lang in the series featuring young Superman returns to Beauty & the Beast . The series, created by Ron Koslow ( Moonlight ) is a new version of Beauty and the Beast, the same creator who had headliners Ron Perlman ( Sons of Anarchy ) and Linda Hamilton ( Terminator ) at the end of 80s.

Beauty & the Beast follows the investigations of Catherine Chandler ( Kristin Kreuk ), a young police lieutenant , trying to solve two mysteries : the identity of those who murdered her mother and those who require the mysterious Vincent , a doctor said died in Afghanistan, to remain in the shadows ... the role of dark Vincent is played by Jay Ryan, as we have seen in the series Sea Patrol , Terra Nova and more recently , Top of the Lake.

The series, unique in France , combines crimes, mythology and romance. This couple a bit special is not unlike other duos such as those formed by Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles ( Moonlight ) or Sarah Wayne Callies and Travis Fimmel ( Tarzan ) . Among the supporting roles, we find Nina Lisandrello in partner Belle and Austin Basis (Life Unexpected ) , best friend in the Beast.

This Sunday, December 22 , from 20:50 , W9 broadcast the first four episodes of season 1 , which has twenty-two . In the United States , Season 2 Beauty & the Beast is broadcast from October 6 on The CW."

"Things Look Bleak For Two CW Sci-Fi Series - "According to TV By The Numbers, the chances of 'The Tomorrow People' and 'Beauty and the Beast' being renewed for another season are very slim...As for the modern day fairy tale procedural, it's pulling in the worst ratings on the entire network with its second season. However, if enough rookie shows fail, there's a small chance that they'd keep it around to have something to air on Fridays. To be honest, I thought it had already been cancelled since I haven't heard a single thing about it since they cast Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan as the leads, so it's even surprising to find out that it's actually got more than one season."

Real Style Kristin Kreuk Interview: "On holiday traditions: We always did a Christmas tree, decorated it and did the Santa Claus thing. My favourite part about that time of year was that we didn't have to go to school and that was amazing. We always had a nice Christmas dinner, which I liked, and it always included my favourite foods. I don't eat turkey anymore, but back then I ate turkey and it was so yummy. Our holidays were very mellow with a lot of book reading and listening to music and hanging out.

Favourite part about the holidays: I always get together with my family and spend the time with them. My birthday is during that time as well. It is a family time, but it also feels like a time of introspection. It's cold and you aren't going outside a whole lot, so it's a time to go inside and reflect upon this past year..."

Well, it seems its all still up in the air. During last week's TCA presentation, CW president Mark Pedowitz stated 'Beauty and the Beast' will return sometime in May to finish out its current season and that no decision had been made about the show's future yet: "In February, the futuristic story of an alien/human romance begins with the premiere of STAR-CROSSED on Monday, February 17 (8:00-9:00pm ET), leading into another epic romance, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. In March, the human race returns to planet Earth in the post-apocalyptic adventure drama, THE 100, which will premiere on Wednesday, March 19 (9:00-10:00pm ET), following hit drama ARROW. THE TOMORROW PEOPLE will transport to its new night and time on Mondays (9:00-10:00pm ET), beginning March 17, following STAR-CROSSED. "Interview with Austin Basis, star of CW's Beauty and the Beast [Austin Basis Interview] - "...JT and Catherine's bond has evolved considerably, from hostile to being worried about each other.

AUSTIN: I think for the two seasons we've had a couple different breeding crews, Sherry, Jennifer and now Brad. Sherry and Jennifer and a couple of other writers, had written on both seasons, but there the collaboration was what I think was the main underlying driving force of JT and his relationship with anyone. And so early on had they wrote it into the script where JT is constantly berating Catherine to get out of their lives and it's all to protect their safety. It's a shock that she comes back in the pilot in that scene, but there's always in episode 1:02 where he sees Catherine coming to the warehouse and even though he has this gut reaction to get her away and avoid this situation because he's been down that path and it's too dangerous for everyone including him. There's a note of, not sympathy, but an understanding. From 1:02 and all the way through the end of season to the three months where they were the only two people looking for Vincent, I guess Gabe was kind of helping, but they were really depending on each other, and it's amazing that writers can write that and trust that the characters will keep their integrity intact and to be able to evolve in their relationship which is natural, which happens in real life. A lot of shows you watch, nothing changes in the dynamic of the characters and the show goes on, they all the serve the same purpose, especially in sitcoms, but more so in dramas..."

"'Beauty And the Beast' Season 2: How Far Would You Go For the One You Love? - "...In the end, though, the inevitable showdown happened between Reynolds, Cat and Vincent with Cat taking her father in for his crimes and making the toughest, and perhaps cruelest, decision against Vincent by shooting him to stop him from killing Reynolds. This direction in the storyline may help to add tension and have fans clamoring for the next new episode of 'Beauty And the Beast' – which won't happen until January 13 – but it certainly leaves their relationship in tatters. And will, undoubtedly, open up new avenues for the powers that be behind the show to take Vincent and Catherine in new directions with their love lives.

The chemistry between Vincent and Tori has been obvious since their encounter at Thanksgiving – not to mention the kiss, reluctantly on Vincent's part or not, they shared – and Gabe's feelings for Cat have been written all over his face – and pointed out to him on a regular basis by Tess. So fans should probably prepare themselves for a shift in the love department for our lead characters. In fact, according to executive producer Brad Kern, Vincent and Catherine may be apart romantically for a time, but they will "discover there is more than just love that binds them; they are destined to be together for more than just romantic reasons. There is a mythological reason (that) will (be discovered) too"..."

"'Beauty And The Beast' Mid-Season Finale: Cat Faces Off Against Vincent Over Her Father (VIDEO) - "Vincent proved he was willing to do anything to protect Cat on the mid-season finale of "Beauty and the Beast," including killing her father. Granted, he has plenty of his own reasons for wanting the man dead, too. But the bottom line is that no matter who he is or what he's done, Cat wasn't going to let it go down. Vincent went full-beast on him, but Cat intervened. "Let him go. I can't let you do this. Vincent, we got him. It's over," she said. But when that wasn't enough to stop Vincent, she shot him. The episode ended with her father behind bars and Vincent wounded by the shot.

The moment made Leane Aguilera's OMG TV Moments of the night on E! Online, along with the word "Ouch!" Over at Buddy TV, Josie Rhodes Cook said she was excited to see "bad ass cat," but TV Fanatic's Carissa Pavlica wasn't as supportive. "Cat cannot have everything Cat wants all of the time," she wrote. "There has to come a time when she is willing to bend a little instead of everyone always bending for her. I haven't seen a lot of that, and until I do, I don't want her to be with Vincent. There. I said it."

"'Beauty and the Beast' season 2, episode 9 preview: A new shocker for Kristin Kreuk's Cat - "...While there may not be too much in the way of scoop out there about the show's return in the new year just yet, we can at least tell you a few things: 1. The return date is Monday, January 13, which is the same exact day that "Hart of Dixie" will be returning to the schedule.

2. Vincent's relationship with Cat is going to be in question ... but so could Vincent's life. There is one scene in the promo below that feels incredibly ominous in that capacity.

3. Could Kristin Kreuk's character really leave her job at the force? There is a scene of someone turning in their gun and their badge, and there are not really a lot of other worthy candidates out there as to who could be the person doing it (especially when you hear her voice as narrator behind it)..."

"Mega Buzz: Good Wife's 100th, Blacklist's Daddy and Homeland's Falling-Out [Spoilers] - "I love the little romance between JT and Tess on Beauty and the Beast. Will it continue? — Brenda

ADAM: Unfortunately, executive producer Brad Kern says that he's not sure how far that relationship will go. "It's fun to bring those two characters together, yet it's a bit limiting to play another romance on the show," he says. "I don't know how much legs we have for that." So how will the writers nip that story in the bud? "[When] friends get together, are they supposed to stay together? Or stay friends?" he says. "The Voice's Best Performances of the Night, How I Met Your Mother's Rhyme Time and More OMG TV Moments - "Beauty and the Beast: Whoa. Let's get straight to it: On tonight's mid-season finale, Vincent refused to let Catherine's father get away with all the harm that he has caused. Despite Cat's pleas, Vincent fully embraced his hot, yet terrifying beast mode and lunged for daddy dearest. Unfortunately, Cat wasn't ready to say goodbye to her newly-discovered dad and she shot Vincent, mid-attck. Ouch! So the episode ended with a wounded Vince, Muirfield securely locked behind bars, and a majorly pissed-off Cat. In fact, our NYPD gal was so upset with her beastie beau that the broke off their relationship! Do you think she was too harsh?"

"Beauty and the Beast Boss: Cat and Vincent Are Meant to Be Together [EP Brad Kern Interview] -- Just Not Right Now - "...Executive producer Brad Kern shared what's to come with a select group of reporters below.

How will Cat shooting Vincent affect their relationship?

Brad Kern: Hugely. What we've played in the first eight episodes was that Catherine is someone who was all in to saving Vincent, but it was coming at a pretty big expense to her. The question she's had to ask over the eight episodes was, "How much do you keep trying, even though you love this guy more than anything, before you're sacrificing too much of yourself?" Shooting him was really his choice as far as we're concerned [because] she begged him not to do it. How it will affect them is fundamental because in the "Who am I?" of it all, he's chosen to go beast. It's hard to shoot your lover and get away with it, but again he made the choice.

Why break them up so soon after they got together?

Kern: You can't put two people together and keep them together because there are no legs to a series if you do that. So, the challenge was, "How do we build a show that might last five years?" To really reward the epic romance. [you have to] challenge that relationship ... and you have to overcome obstacles to test the relationship to see if it really is worthy of being together. [They have] an epic love and they're meant to be together, but [we're] asking our audience to go along with us for the ride to explore what happens when a relationship comes together too fast. Separating them for all these very emotional, practical and moral reasons will help them learn more about who they are separately, and the plan is to make them stronger as individuals and to ultimately find their way back to each other stronger than ever..."

"'Beauty and the Beast' mid-season finale post mortem: EP Brad Kern on Cat shooting Vincent, the end of Muirfield, and a new, deeper mythology [EP Brad Kern Interview] - "..."It's huge. We try to make a very big point in this episode that she's tying the relationship into his decision," Kern says. "As a poker player, Catherine was all in saving Vincent, coming at a pretty big expense to her. The question she's had to ask herself over the course of these eight episodes is, 'How much do you keep trying before you're sacrificing too much of yourself?' Shooting him really is his choice as far as we're concerned. How it will affect them is fundamental. His inner battle was, 'Am I man or beast?' and he's chosen to go beast. We'll explore that for a while and we'll explore how Cat and Vincent deal with each other after she shoots him."

Even though fans should view both Catherine's and Vincent's actions as a breakup, Kern assures fans that VinCat will never be truly over. "They have to earn their relationship. They got together so quickly last year and it's an epic love. They're meant to be together," Kern says. "Our design this season was to ask the audience to come along on the ride as we explore what happens to a relationship when it forms too quickly, too fast, and you lose yourself inside the relationship. Separating them for all these very emotional and very practical and moral reasons will help them in the next several episodes."..."

"RumBelle or VinCat? The better 'Beauty and the Beast' couple is? - The first version of 'The Beauty and the Beast' was a rendition by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, published in 1740.Since then this beautiful fairy tale has been notably adapted for screen, stage, prose, and television numerous times and continues to be an inspiration for several love stories depicted in various forms of art.

Currently, there are two shows on TV, ABC's Once upon a time and CW's Beauty and the Beast, where we can see this sweepingly romantic tale of true love and inner beauty being portrayed. The couples from both shows, Catherine/Vincent from Beauty and the Beast and Belle/Rumpelstiltskin from Once upon a time, are immensely popular and have legions of fans rooting for them to get together on their respective shows. But surely there is one couple which has more chemistry than the other and is a better embodiment of the Beauty and the Beast story. So vote below and help us determine the better Beauty/Beast pair. - Rumbelle or VinCat? The better 'Beauty and the Beast' couple is...Belle/Rumpelstiltskin (Once Upon a Time) - 45% ( 76369 votes ) / WINNER -> Catherine/Vincent (Beauty and the Beast) - 55% ( 92745 votes )

"Rating Analysis - State of CW Dramas - "One more week, one more article looking at ratings. Today I will be tackling what is arguably the group of shows with the most passionate shows on this website, the CW network. The 9 dramas that the CW currently airs are averaging about a 0.80 in its most recent airings. Like usual, I will be diving these shows in tiers according to its ratings, syndication and number of episodes. Unlike CBS, I thought the breakdown here was very clear. - Tier 4- Beauty and the Beast: Number of Episodes at the End of the Season: 44-46 / Syndication: No / Ratings Average: 0.30 (40%) - Beauty and the Beast is performing at a terrible ratings level that leaves it with a very little chance of being renewed. Just for a reference, a quick look at the "last" renewed shows of each of the last three seasons: 2010-2011 had Happy Endings and Fringe renewed at 65%, 2011-2012 had Fringe and Rules of Engagement renewed at 70% and 2012-2013 had the Carrie Diaries renewed at 60% and Nikita renewed at 65%. As you can see, the lowest renewed show was performing at 60% and I already think that was a big reach, which is why I have an extremely hard time imagining the CW wanting to renew a show performing at 40% - it would be baffling to me! Why is it not a certain cancellation then, as 95% of the industry websites have been proclaiming? Well, basically because I am unclear on how small is the % of the CW profits that comes from ad-revenues and how big is the % that comes from syndication revenues .If their goal is simply to carry shows to syndication, I don't think it's totally impossible that Beauty and the Beast makes history and is renewed for Fridays at 9pm instead of one out of Reign, The Tomorrow People, The 100 and Star Crossed, since it would have at least a 22 episode advantage over them. But I still think this would be a tremendous reach and I am not ready to believe they could have advertisers accepting this. Therefore, because of this unbearable 40% level, I am still calling it a likely cancellation..."

"Preview: Five Things About Tonight's Beauty And The Beast, "Man Or Beast?" - "...Having more characters like Tess in on what Vincent truly is makes for an improved and more coherent show, I think; putting a face on an enemy, as Ted Whittall's Reynolds does, makes the threat so much more real than Muirfield. Characters like Gabe and J.T. being more of a part of the story also is a good thing, as I enjoy both Sendhil Ramamurthy and Austin Basis a lot. There are some things I'm not too fond of, either: Again, although he gets that feral rage and "Beasts out," Jay Ryan as Vincent doesn't even have his scar anymore, and feels more like a Hulk-werewolf-beast than the kind of character that Ron Perlman played 20+ years ago. Also, although it added complications to the Vincent-Catherine relationship, and conflict keeps a series going, giving Vincent amnesia for the first part of the season seems to have given the show a reset and is probably frustrating for those who saw the journey beginning last year. I'm still glad to see Kristin Kreuk in a more adult role than Lana Lang, and I like her character more now that the procedural/cop aspect of the show is diminished. Being a Smallville fan, seeing Kristin Kreuk on TV again also makes me happy, though I'm still waiting for some of her Smallville co-stars to guest on BATB sometime...2. Conflict. Both Vincent and Tori have beastly ways of wanting to deal with people like Reynolds. Cat, who has recently reunited with her father, even though she obviously doesn't like him, does not have the same ideas on how to bring him to justice. While Vincent and Tori might be okay with killing the guy, Cat thinks that killing will send Vincent on a route that he should not go down..."

"Beauty and the Beast Midseason Finale Sneak Peek: Will Vincent Kill Catherine's Father? Watch and Find Out! - "Watch out Catherine (Kristin Kreuk), you may just be losing your love and your father tonight! In Beauty and the Beast's midseason finale, airing at 9 p.m. on the CW, Lady Beast Tori (Amber Skye Noyes) will push Vincent (Jay Ryan) to take out Reynolds (Ted Whittall), the man who had been controlling him for months. Too bad that man just so happens to be his love Catherine's father. Catherine and Vincent, redefining the term "it's complicated" since 2012.

But will Vincent actually kill Reynolds? We've got an exclusive sneak peek at tonight's midseason finale, titled "Man or Beast?," which features Tori trying to persuade Vincent, whom she killed in last week's episode, to eliminate Reynolds for good..."You have to choose who you want to be. Not based on the past, but on the future," Tori tells Vincent. "And the best way to do that is to stop fighting your inner nature. Our inner nature."

Then Tori really goes for it, trying to sell Vincent on taking Reynolds down harder than a used cars salesman pushing a crap-mobile on an unsuspecting customer. "You saved me, You opened my eyes to a world I could've never imagined. You showed me what I was born to be. Because of that, I feel free. Let me return the favor," she says.

But will Vincent actually be persuaded by Tori? Or will Cat make a move before the Beasties have a chance to strike? Well, the episode description probably won't provide much comfort for VinCat fans: "Vincent and Cat find themselves at odds on how to deal with Agent Reynolds, which forces Vincent to wonder if he is more beast than man. Cat makes a drastic move that will forever change her relationship with Vincent."

Beauty and the Beast Exclusive Sneak Peek: Will Catherine Save Vincent or Her Father? - "Will Catherine take down her own father in order to save Vincent? In the final moments of the fall's penultimate episode, Vincent (Jay Ryan) went to save Tori (Amber Skye Noyes) who was set up by Cat's father, Detective Reynolds (Ted Whittal), after he became aware she was a beast. With Tori tied up and a bomb by her side, viewers were left wondering what happened when the explosion went off. (Spoiler alert! We have it on good authority both survived.)

On Monday's midseason finale (9/8c, CW), Catherine will have to decide if she'll help Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) get Reynolds behind bars for all he's done. She'll also come to terms with Vincent's beastly side overpowering his humanity and whether or not she's willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of their love. That is, if she can even forgive him for making out with Tori."

"'Beauty and the Beast' Season 2 Episode 8 Spoilers: Cat's Relationship With Vincent Changes Forever [Spoilers] - "..."Beauty and the Beast" executive producer Brad Kern told TVLine that Tori and Vincent are inevitably attracted to each other because of their beastly powers. "Tori and Vincent amplify each other's powers and emotions - and that's an attraction we're going to continue to play," Kern said. Amber Skye Noyes also spoke to TVLine about her character's intentions, as well as her connection with Vince.

Is Tori a friend or a foe? "We're not sure, and Tori's not sure either, so she's going to have to figure out which one she is - and if she has any control over it," Noyes said. "But it is pretty clear that there's only one person she can really talk to about this, and that's Vincent. So they're obviously going to have a pretty clear connection." Noyes said that Tori has a strong connection with Vincent because of their shared beastliness. "Tori's going to be able to understand Vincent in certain ways, and vice versa," she said. "After all, we've never seen a male and female beast together, so we don't really know how that will play out. But it is clear that even though they're both beasts, Tori's a new beast, so she doesn't really know what she's doing, while Vincent's more experienced. If anyone is going to be a mentor and teach her a few things, it's going to be Vincent." She also hinted that Tori may be around for longer than three episodes, as was originally announced..."

"'ET Canada' Goes Behind The Scenes Of 'Beauty And The Beast' [Kristin Kreuk & Jay Ryan Interviews] - The second season of Beauty and the Beast is in full swing, but fans of the show are still waiting for the romance between NYC police detective Cat Chandler (Kristin Kreuik) and presumed-dead super-soldier Vincent Keller (Jay Ryan) to heat up. As Kristin tells ET Canada, though, they should prepare to keep waiting.

"The fans get upset that the romance is slowing down but that doesn't mean it's not good for them," she explains. "You can't always get what you want." Besides, she adds, a happy, content couple doesn't make for a very dramatic TV show: "Fans really want them together, which is what we want — that's awesome. But, really, drama comes from the difficulty and love is shown through how much you're willing to push to earn it."

Now that the show is in its second season, one of the tweaks that's been made is with the prosthetic Beast makeup, with Jay sporting a new "trimmed-back" look whenever he transforms into his vicious alter ego. "It just means he doesn't have to be at work for as long hours," says Kristin, "which is really nice for him because sitting in that [makeup] chair as long as he did is just brutal." "It seems odd that I'm the one that's in the makeup chair the most out of a cast of beautiful women," jokes Jay."

''Beauty and the Beast' season 2, episode 7 preview: Can Cat get over Vincent's actions? - "In quite a few ways, the beginning of Monday night's "Beauty and the Beast" season 2 episode is going to feel pretty darn familiar. You have Cat trying to forget about some of the things in which Vincent has done to kill, and at the same time, you also have her firmly in the role of protector, trying to do almost everything within her power to ensure that he is safe, and that no harm is done to him. However, at the same time there are all sorts of problems that are going to come courtesy of the Handler, a man who is basically trying to do that when it comes to our favorite beast: Handle him. Suffice it to say, we're probably in for a heck of a great hour of entertainment..."

'Beauty and the Beast Newcomer Talks Tori and Vincent's 'Connection,' the 'Fun' of Beasting Out [Amber Skye Noyes Interview] - "TVLINE | How far will that connection go, though? They haven't played anything romantic between the two of them thus far, but might Tori start forming an attachment to Vincent that Cat might not like?

Tori and Vincent, because they're both beasts, are going to have a very different type of connection and relationship than Vincent and Cat could ever have. Tori's going to be able to understand Vincent in certain ways, and vice versa. After all, we've never seen a male and female beast together, so we don't really know how that will play out. But it is clear that even though they're both beasts, Tori's a new beast, so she doesn't really know what she's doing, while Vincent's more experienced. If anyone is going to be a mentor and teach her a few things, it's going to be Vincent. So, there's that dynamic as well."

''Beauty and the Beast': Amber Skye Noyes on Tori's Beastly Obstacles, Seeking Out Vincent [Amber Skye Noyes Interview]- "How different is Tori to Catherine (Kristin Kreuk)?

Cat is very sure about who she is, although at times she can be conflicted about her feelings for Vincent. Tori, however, is about to start her journey and figure out who she is -- though Cat is still figuring out her father and her family. In terms of Tori and her personal confidence, that is a big difference. She'll also have a very different relationship with Vincent because they're both beasts. That's a connection that he and Catherine will never have; it's a different angle that we'll see as well.

Should Vincent/Cat fans be worried?

I don't know. Listen, Catherine doesn't need any more complications getting in the way between her and Vincent, and getting back to where they were in season one. But Tori is going to have one person to talk to about this beast thing, so there will be that dynamic between [Tori and Vincent]. Tori is a new beast and she's going to have to figure out all of this stuff and someone's going to have to teach her; Vincent is going to be able to be a mentor. And also, she's still figuring out how she feels about being a beast -- she'll deal with this beast thing first and then hash out her feelings -- but Vincent did kill her father. There's a lot of complications. Cat has just seen Vincent do the most gruesome thing he's ever done so there's a lot coming. Great love requires great challenges and tests, or else how would we know that it was great?"

''Beauty and the Beast': Ted Whittall on Reynolds, Thankgiving and being Cat's dad [Ted Whittall Interview] - "Rumors are that Reynolds is going to spend Thanksgiving with Catherine -- and possibly the rest of the "Beast" gang. How does that happen?

Ted Whittall: I think Reynolds wanted to spend Thanksgiving with his daughter but Cat kind of springs Vincent on him. It's hard to describe without giving it all away. But circumstances kind of conspire to get everybody involved into Reynolds' house for Thanksgiving. Reynolds kind of wants it to happen that way, because everything is starting to spin out of control and it's easier for him to get everybody there and to deal with the situation -- as he sees it -- than to not have everybody there.

Does Reynolds want to be honest and open with Cat, or is he fine keeping things from her?

Ted Whittall: I think there's secrets. I mean, you saw last week's episode -- he's actually honest with her about everything. The line that we came up with when we were talking about it is: He doesn't lie to Cat. There are just some things he can't tell her. And it's even more complicated because she has a deep involvement with Vincent. And Vincent's part of the things he can't talk about, that he can't tell her. So yes, he's trying to be open and transparent, but there are some things he just can't tell her."

'Beauty and the Beast's Amber Skye Noyes: Tori and Vincent Have a Bond That Cat Can't Share' [Amber Skye Noyes Interview] - "Tori and Cat had a nice heart-to-heart in the last episode. Will they develop a friendship?

Noyes: She doesn't really have anyone else and she certainly can't talk to other people about what she saw go down, so Cat is another person in the fold who knows about things and is on her side and not judging her because of her father. Cat also understands Tori's predicament about being conflicted about loving somebody.

How will Tori and Vincent's relationship grow? And how will that affect Cat?

Noyes: Tori is going to have her own relationship and connection with Vincent and that will change the dynamic between Tori and Cat for sure. It's very clear they share a distinct relationship and bond, one that Cat and Vincent could never have. But Vincent is also a more established beast, so the dynamic will evolve as he continues to help Tori and guide her just like he was doing in the last episode."

'Beauty and the Beast' Season 2 Episode 7 Spoilers: Cat and Vincent Spend Thanksgiving With Reynolds - "...Cat sees that Vince's humanity is diminishing, so she decides to intervene. She sets up a meeting with Windsor, and gives him an ultimatum to submit to Gabe's experiment, or to say goodbye to his daughter forever. Windsor submits to the experiment. However, Windsor breaks free of his restraints, and Vince is forced to kill him in a shockingly violent way: he rips Windsor's beating heart right out of his chest.

Cat also met with Reynolds this week, who she recently found out was her biological father. He explains his history with her late mother, and subtly tries to manipulate Cat by telling her that he hopes she'll avoid her mother's proclivity for falling in love with "lost causes." Reynolds knows that Cat is seeing Vincent; however, Cat doesn't know that he is Vince's handler..."

"Beauty And The Beast Q&A: Amber Skye Noyes On Tori Turning To Vincent For Help [Amber Skye Noyes Interview] - "Access: Could that lead to jealousy too on Catherine's part because at this point, Vincent doesn't totally remember all of the feelings that they had for one another because of his memory issues? And here comes someone who can relate to Vincent in a totally unique way.

Amber: Catherine's a pretty strong character. I don't know if she would ever be straight up jealous, but I think the last thing that she needs in another complication and diversion away from her and Vincent getting stronger. But at the same time, Tori is still a person and Vincent helped and saved Cat a lot, so she'll certainly understand that feeling of attachment that will come from anybody being saved by somebody else. So Cat, more than anybody, understands that hero role that Vincent has to play. It will certainly cause a different dynamic... "'Beauty and the Beast' season 2 spoilers: Kristin Kreuk's Cat to work with 'Client List' alum - "...As you have seen on "Beauty and the Beast" this season already, we are starting to find out a little bit more about where Cat came from. But, the mystery with her here is that there are so many layers and problems that even she doesn't know about. She has so much more than she will be destined to find out, and that is something that will start to unfold slowly and surely over the next few weeks. Add to that another problem in Vincent and Tori, who has just made a very important discovery about herself, and she is going to have quite a bit on her plate to deal with. The one thing that "Beauty and the Beast" as a whole needs to work on right now is pretty darn simple: The ratings. This is a show that is in danger of getting the ax right now as the lowest-rated show on the network airing from Monday to Thursday, and while it is seemingly keeping steady at a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic these days, that will likely not be enough unless some other shows plummet. We know that the network likes having a product from this studio, but that only goes so far."

"'Beauty and the Beast' season 2, episode 6 preview: Can Vincent and Cat really leave together? - ""Beauty and the Beast" is probably best described these days as a "tragic romance," at least in that you have two people who do seem to want to be with each other, but appear to be continually blocked from doing so courtesy of a series of circumstances that get in their way. So what is the latest one? Let's just say that it involves a mission that will basically force Vincent to spend some time with a female one of his kind. The sad thing about it is that before this happens, Jay Ryan's character tells Cat that the two of them are only a matter of missions away from getting away from beasts and all of the madness, where they can then run away and have a life of peace that they have always dreamed of..."

"'Beauty and the Beast': The first female beast in 'Father Knows Best' - "Thus far on "Beauty and the Beast," all of the beastly creatures have been male. There may have been a woman or two back in Vincent's original unit in the experiment, but no full-fledged girl beasts have shown up. That may change in "Father Knows Best." In the episode, the team meets Tori (Amber Skye Noyes), the daughter of one of Vincent's high-profile beast targets. Vincent ends up having to kidnap Tori in the process of neutralizing her father -- which gives the young woman time to make some surprising discoveries about herself and her genetics. There is a good chance that a little bit of mutated DNA has passed on from father to daughter. She finally found out Agent Reynolds is her biological father. Just as she'll have questions going forward so do I: No. 1—What now? Now that Catherine knows who her dad is, what happens next? It's possible Agent Reynolds planned for something like this just in case he doesn't want Catherine to know his true identity. "'Beauty And the Beast' Season 2: How Is Gabe Not a Beast and Alive? - "Since Beauty And the Beast returned for its second season on The CW on October 7, the show has been on a very different trajectory from its debut season.

• Vincent (series lead Jay Ryan) had his memory wiped, becoming a super-soldier hunting down other beasts for Agent Reynolds (recurring guest star Ted Whittall);

• Catherine (series lead Kristin Kreuk) was on a non-stop manhunt to find Vincent only to be disappointed by his advanced transformations of both mind and body in addition to learning that the man she thought was her father wasn't;

• Joe Bishop (former series regular) is no longer Captain at the precinct and all of his cases are now up for review because of his actions after the tragic death of his younger brother;

• J.T. (series regular Austin Basis) was along for the ride with Catherine in tracking Vincent down, but he seems to be left out in the cold because of Vincent's memory lapse; and,

• Gabe (series regular Sendhil Ramamurthy) is now in charge of the precinct and is – somehow – no longer a beast and for that matter alive in the first place.

"'Beauty And The Beast': Cat Shocked By Someone In Background Of Her Graduation Picture (VIDEO) - "On the latest episode of "Beauty and the Beast," Cat finally put the pieces together ... and all it took was a photograph. The photograph in question was a shot of her graduation. After her ten year high school reunion got turned upside down by not one, but two beasts, she needed a quiet moment to unwind. "Catherine, I'm more concerned about you!" Gabriel says. "Zach already attacked you once, which means until we know where Zach is... ." "We should get her out of here," Tess (Nina Lisandrello) says, getting ready to leave. It's at that moment that Catherine soaks in her surroundings, reminiscing about what she thought she wanted her life to be like in high school. "Ten years ago I thought I'd be a lawyer like my father," she says. "Married with kids ... botox ... and now 10 years later, I am in love with one beast and I am running from another. So much for 'most likely to succeed.'" Funny how life works. "'Beauty and the Beast' season 2, episode 5 preview: Cat's high school reunion - "Is Cat going to be able to actually have a normal night of fun on "Beauty and the Beast" next week? Asking this question is like asking if Vincent is going to wake up one morning on the show and start saying all of his lines as though he is stuck in some sort of bizarre high school musical. It's not going to happen. This is a woman that cannot escape drama no matter how hard she tries, and the drama will be bubbling over when she thinks mistakenly that she can take a break from the beast-hunting and the investigation. Unfortunately, what happens at this reunion is really not something that Cat could have prepared for in the first place..."

"'Beauty and the Beast' Season 2 Rumors: Catherine Likely To Part Ways With Vincent If He Continues His Ways? [Kristin Kreuk & Jay Ryan Interview]- After an exciting season 4 episode of The CW's hit TV series, Beauty and the Beast, fans are surely eager to see what's to come in the relationship between Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristen Kreuk). On Oct. 28, Kreuk and Ryan took the opportunity to dish on the possible friction ahead between the likes of Vincent and Catherine. Interestingly enough, Kreuk acknowledged that Vincent may be biting off more than Catherine will soon be able to chew in terms of their current dynamic. Hence, she may eventually part ways from him.

"Very possible that that will occur at some point. If Vincent continues on the trajectory he's going on, there will be a point at which Catherine has to ... like there are lines that he could cross that make her stop believing in him," Kreuk said.

Ryan concurred with his co-star, stating that while Vincent is on a mission to right the wrongs of his makers, he's also acting in a mysterious manner. "He's very questionable this season. For Vincent, he makes it be okay for him because he's on his mission and he's cleaning up the mess of his makers. In reality, he's killing other beasts, not humans."

"'Beauty and the Beast': Is Cat and Vincent's Relationship Abusive? - In the second episode of Beauty and the Beast season 2, the main character, Cat, was thrown to the floor of her roof and injured by Vincent, her love interest, in one of the final scenes of the episode. The couple is a fan favorite, and the CW has a reputation for attracting young, female viewers. With this demographic tuning in in large numbers, does the show have a responsibility to handle a topic like domestic abuse sensitively?

Let's back up. For the record, this sort of behavior from Vincent is not the norm for his and Cat's relationship. In the season one finale of Beauty and the Beast, Vincent was abducted, and when Cat found him again in the first episode of this season, "Who Am I?," he had no memory of much of his past, including her and their relationship. This obviously proved problematic for the star-crossed lovers, and Cat has now made it her personal mission to help Vincent retain his memories. In "Kidnapped," Vincent became increasingly frustrated with Cat for asking questions about his whereabouts and actions, concerned that he was being controlled or had fallen in with a group that maybe didn't have good intentions for him. When he threw her down - presumably by grabbing her neck if the bruises are any indication - she was totally shocked, saying that she doesn't remember him ever doing that before, and he left immediately afterwards..."

"OMG TV Moments: An Explosive Twist on The Blacklist, Beauty and the Beast's Fiery Reveal and More! - Beauty and the Beast: Things were really heating up in this week's episode—but then again, that could have been from all the fires. We were introduced to Eddie a former arsonist-turned-fire beast who has been gifted with the abilities to start a fire and walk through flames. Vincent has been unlocking more and more of his memories and he even ran into/saved his firefighter nephew Aaron Keller. Eddie was killed by the episode's end, but on a happier shipper note Vincent and Cat shared a smooch and held hands as they walked along. It sure is nice to see these two coming back together as a team!"

In the episode, titled "Hothead," a run-in with a suspected (arsonist!) beast is not only going to land Vincent in the hospital but also lead to a loaded encounter with his nephew...The exclusive photos here are also from the episode, which will feature a scene at the 9/11 memorial in New York. "'Beauty and the Beast' video: Cat and Tess 'relax' in 'Hot Head' - 'Even when you're trying to uncover a beastly conspiracy, it's important to take time to relax. Thus, Catherine and Tess take a spa day in the "Beauty and the Beast" episode, "Hot Head." Will the two women actually be able to take it easy? That doesn't work out so well. Find out why in this exclusive clip from Monday's episode. Despite the fact that this is an incredibly nice spa, Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) is finding it especially difficult to relax. Tess (Nina Lisandrello) wants her friend to let it all go for a couple of minutes, but the case is making it difficult for Cat to take that good advice.

It seems that there is an arsonist out on the town, and that firebug might also be a beast. Of course Catherine is going to be concerned about the situation! Add in the idea that dying (for a minute) could save Vincent (Jay Ryan), and this whole thing is doomed. There's also the issue of Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy). The man doesn't seem to have signed off on the whole "take off for a day" aspect of the spa treatment. This is especially a problem when Gabe manages to get hold of every phone number in existence to harass people until Catherine picks up."

"GO BE A BEAST: The anatomy of the anti-hero - "...The Beast vs. Don: Surprisingly, Vincent 2.0 falls right into the 'Don Draper anti-hero' mold. Vincent's questionable behaviour is a direct consequence of his "identity" been taken away. Our identity and moral values are a result of all our life experience. Where can a man go if he is stripped from everything that made him a person? I think this is the most important thing to consider about Vincent right now. He is not the same guy... yes, he is still in there somewhere, but he needs to find a link to his past in order to regain his identity. To use a Lost metaphor: he needs a "constant" and in this case, the constant is Cat..."

"'Beauty and the Beast' Interview with Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan [Kristin Kreuk & Jay Ryan Interview]- '...Kristin Kreuk surprised me. She's incredibly direct and forthright. I hate comparing actors to their characters, but in reality Kreuk felt closer to the steely-eyed Cat than to the helpless Lana Lang damsel in 'Smallville.' Most actors/actresses go out of their way to charm you in the press rooms and I appreciated Kristin's matter-of-fact personality. I asked if we'd see Cat cease to cover for Vincent. In season two's opening episodes, we see Cat consistently explaining away Vincent's bad deeds. Even when she claims she's over him, she isn't. But, Kristin promised that Cat will increasingly realize the Vincent before her isn't her Vincent and accept it.

I absolutely forgot that Jay's from New Zealand, until he spoke. The best American accents typically occur when an actor doesn't flatten out his vocal intonations. Jay's speech patterns are all still there in his natural voice. So, I'm even more impressed that he maintains his natural cadence while layering an American accent and Bronx inflections on top of that..."

"'Beauty and the Beast' Interview: Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan Talk Complicated Romance in Season 2 [Kristin Kreuk & Jay Ryan Interview]-"Poor Catherine and Vincent. It's hard enough finding true love, but forgetting true love is even more difficult. With Vincent's amnesia and a complicated conspiracy afoot, true love has never been bumpier for this beauty and this beast. Of course, stars Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan don't seem to mind. In fact, the pair seem positively energized by some of the big changes in store for Beauty and the Beast in season two...Highlights from the interview:

Jay Ryan says the amnesia makes Vincent volatile and Catherine vulnerable. It brings them back to square one. Vincent has a new mission this season, he's becoming the super soldier he was always meant to be. He's a very different character this year. Last season Ryan wanted to play the beast in a kind of Jekyll and Hyde fashion. While the characters got pushed together pretty fast in the first season, this season their relationship will be a little murkier. Ryan wants to keep the viewers guessing about what state Vincent is in. Catherine is more desperate this season. She's more emotional and the ground is less steady for her. Kristin Kreuk likes it because it's more material for her to play..."

"I May be a Beastie Yet – A Second Look at Beauty and the Beast - "I have a confession to make. Before covering last weekend's Beauty and the Beast panel at New York Comic Con, I had only watched one episode of the CW show, a re-imagining of the 1987 series by Ron Koslow, then starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman. I was a fan of the original series and even though the October 11th, 2012 pilot was pleasant enough, it didn't click with me and I couldn't see myself adding it to my already overbooked DVR. Then I live-tweeted the show's New York Comic Con panel, featuring both main stars, Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) and Jay Ryan (Terra Nova), along with executive producers Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin. Immediately, our feed was flooded with passionate mentions and replies from the Beauty and the Beast fanbase, or Beasties. The episode that was screened (Season 2 Episode 2) was much better than I expected, the panel was engaging and charming and the enthusiastic fan reaction intriguing, so I decided to give the show another chance. After a day or two of post-NYCC recovery, I binge-watched all 22 episodes of Season one, plus the two episodes of Season 2 in three days and I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised!

The chemistry between the two stars is palpable and obviously the driving force behind the show. And even though their star-crossed romance is the main story line, there is much more for fans to enjoy. There is a surprising amount of suspense and action. Kristin Kreuk's character, Catherine Chandler, a New York City police detective, is very capable of taking care of herself. Even though she meets Jay Ryan's character, Vincent Keller, when he saves her from bad guys that have just killed her mother, she is no damsel in distress. She kicks some serious butt and saves Vincent easily as often as he saves her..."

JR: He does as the memories start to pile on, and he realizes that Catherine and J.T. are out to help him. He starts to question the motives of his boss. This is more like [episodes] three, four, five, six, seven, eight. It's much later into the piece. At the moment, he's still sort of getting his bearings with Catherine. She frustrates the hell out of him at this point because he knows that the stakes of what he's doing is very high and she just seems to always show up when he's about to intercept these other beasts. "Beauty and the Beast Sneak Peek: Did Vincent Kill an FBI Agent? Watch Now! - Has Vincent (Jay Ryan) gone completely dark side?! That is the question on every Beauty and the Beast fans mind so far in season two as Vincent barely resembles the complicated hero Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) fell for in the CW hit's first season. In last week's episode, VinCat fans were left heartbroken when the couple had a violent altercation on the roof, leading Catherine to admit Vincent is dangerous. But is he really killing good guys now?! We've got an exclusive sneak peek from tonight's episode "Liar, Liar" to share with you, which reveals Vincent may have killed an FBI agent. But Catherine isn't ready to give up on her man just yet...Things will only get harder for the couple, as Sendhil Ramamurthy recently told us Vincent's secretive mission could jeopardize their future. "He's on this whole mission which will become more clear as more episodes air, that he sacrifices a lot to kind of do what he's doing, and he's doing it for one reason, which is to be with Catherine," he teased. "But there's some huge sacrifices involved, and it makes both of them kind of question, and hopefully in the end find that their love becomes stronger."

"Does The CW have a hit in 'Reign,' or is this 'Beauty and the Beast' all over again? [Poll]- "Last year, The CW had a show in "Beauty and the Beast" that they were clearly proud of, and wanted to do its best to promote it. Therefore, they gave it what is in many ways their top timeslot immediately following "The Vampire Diaries," and tried to let it grow into something. It got off to a decent start, but then struggled more at the end of the season, despite being a fun show.

Now that it has been moved to Mondays, "Beauty and the Beast" is really struggling in a big way, and right now is the only series (airing Monday-Thursday) likely to be canceled, though that could change as the season progresses. For whatever reason, the lack of the lead-in (or maybe also the increased competition on Mondays) has really hurt Kristin Kreuk and company. It still has loyal, passionate fans, but they may not be enough to survive. As of right now, we see "Reign" in a similar situation to "Beauty and the Beast" last year based on its premiere rating of 0.8. It's a solid number, much in the same way that the previous show started. But can that number last? "Beauty and the Beast" started slow, but got better and better as season 1 progressed..."

"Jim's Notebook: Jay Ryan's Daddy-Hood, Matt Bomer's World Appeal and Keegan Allen's Dark Side [Jay Ryan Interview]- "Beauty and the Beast: I can now state from personal experience that star Jay Ryan is not a beast during the most important meal of the day: breakfast. During our recent chat, we talked about how the stunt work has changed on Beauty and the Beast Season 2, along with another big change to his persoanl life... being a father!

"This year the stunt work has completely changes because they've remodeled physically how Vincent moves as the beast," the New Zealand actor shared. And, he added, the new stunt coordinators are having him do some intense work: "We shot one [scene] the other day where Vincent is chasing a speeding car, and he jumps on the car, and he rips the character out through the window so he's much more dangerous, and just more ingenious. Everything is honed in, and it felt last year he was a bit all over the place and couldn't control his beast whereas this year, he's much more in control with it." And while Vincent may not be smiling much these days, Ryan lit up when I asked about being a new father to his nearly six month old daughter: "I think it's chilled me out a lot more. I thought I would be sleep deprived and a little bit more anxious but everything else seems so small in comparison to just getting home and playing with my daughter." "'Beauty and the Beast': Jay Ryan and Kristin Kreuk talk Season 2 romance in 'Kidnapped' [Kristin Kreuk & Jay Ryan Interview]- "Kreuk and Ryan answered at least some of these questions in recent interviews.

First of all, there's the important issue of whether or not the romance is doomed. Ryan did give some hints about how Vincent just won't be able to stay away from Catherine, even if he wants to. "There's always that pull, that connection," he explained. "I think that's what really starts to unravel this new Vincent from what he's focused on right now. There's this pull of this woman who says that they're together and she knows all this stuff about his past ... It's a constant thing. It's almost like he can hear her heartbeat. And that's a new element that we'll play with as well this season -- his senses and what Catherine's body does to him, I guess. How is a beast attracted to the one he loves, and how we play with that."

But getting back together isn't the solution to everything, as Kreuk pointed out. Catherine's obsession with Vincent has actually become a bit of a problem for her. "This season will illustrate, if you go that extreme and you go really far in that extreme and you build your life all around somebody and you lose all sense of yourself, you're screwed!" she said..."

"New Age Sensitive Guy Brings Heart to the Beast - "Auckland-born Jay Ryan, 32, "brings a deep-voiced sensitivity to Vincent", in his role as the "Beast" in the CBS remake of the 1980's TV show Beauty and the Beast starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton. "Ryan portrays Vincent as being a little awkward, almost shy, and that's part of his appeal. For this is a man who's lost everything, friends, position, girlfriend, who's hunted, afraid of who he might harm. But he's also surprisingly gentle, though fiercely protective of [detective Catherine Chandler]," The Reporter writes in a review of the show, which is currently screening on Australia's Eleven channel.

"Beauty and the Beast offers a dash of romance, action and fantasy. Throw in good looking actors, seriously unpleasant adversaries and this is an entertaining series." Since 2009, Ryan has played Kevin in the New Zealand comedy/drama series Go Girls. In 2011, he joined the cast of the Australian comedy/drama series Offspring."

"BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Preview: Nina Lisandrello Previews Season 2 and An Unexpected Romance for Tess [Nina Lisandrello Interview]- 'Will Tess push Catherine to let loose at all, like have a girl's outing?

NINA: That is an amazing question. Tess will definitely push Cat to let loose, and Cat lets loose a little too much. So when Cat is letting loose more than Tess, and Tess has to rein Cat in, we've got a serious problem. So that's a really funny episode. That is Episode 204. Good girl's night.

With the heightened danger now that Tess is aware of Muirfield and their world, how much physical training do you have to do to keep up with all that as far as how they write the show?

NINA: The funny thing is: I was just saying that Tess is brute in the relationship. Like Tess is Indiana Jones in a sword fight. She just shoots her gun and says, "I really don't have time for all this." Cat is a ninja — trained in martial arts. Tess is a New York cop. She'll punch you in the face and maybe kick you in the groin. It ain't going to get that sexy with Tess. She'll break a chair over your head. But the really amazing fight sequences are with Catherine 'cause that is just what Kristin excels at. It's beautiful and it's amazing to watch. And Tess will just be there watching, sipping a beer, and just watching the show. There is a scene coming up where Cat has a very intense sequence while Tess is drinking a beer. (Laughs) So there is a lot of fun stuff coming up..."

"BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Preview: Kristin Kreuk Teases the Challenges Ahead for VinCat in Season 2 [Kristin Kruek Interview] - "Going forward, where is Catherine at in her mindset?

KRISTIN: Catherine is in a dark, dark place. She's kind of consumed with finding Vincent and it's become her entire life. She hasn't paid her bills. She hasn't taken care of anything. Her sister hasn't had the opportunity to tell her about her dad not being her dad. All of that stuff is up in the air. And everyone's kind of in different places. Tess had her relationship with Joe end. She's trying to get Catherine to move on with her life and everyone's kind of in different spaces.

How long before we see scenes with Catherine and Vincent?

KRISTIN: I think this season is really about them apart in some ways. In the first bit, they kind of fall in love again and you get to experience that. But as you'll see, there's so many obstacles and Catherine's real father is very actively trying to keep the two of them apart. So they still love each other, even with all the obstacles that are in the way. But there's going to be these struggles.

But there will be glimpses of bits of romance in there?

KRISTIN: Absolutely. The romance is there and in some ways it's more romantic 'cause it's more tragic."

Beauty and the Beast: Sendhil Ramamurthy is Back and Talking Season 2 - "[Sendhil Ramamurthy Interview]

"Fan Voice: How far ahead do you actually get to see the scripts?

Sendhil Ramamurthy: Literally it's been two or three days before we shoot. It's tough. They write it, but then there's so many people who have to give notes on it – the network, studio, these people have to give notes and by the time that it gets to us when it's in shooting form where we're going to get to go, and even then, we get green pages, blue pages, pink pages, gold pages throughout the whole thing. It's tough. I can also say that Gabe and Catherine carry the bulk of letting the audience know what's going on, like kind of setting up the scene at the beginning of the episodes, and it's heavy dialogue days and Kristin and I are like 'we've got to get through this;' we shore each other up to get through it because it's a lot of talking.

Fan Voice: So the Kristin giggle. How are you managed to get through scenes without cracking up?

Sendhil Ramamurthy: Well, unfortunately, I'm kind of just as bad as her, it turns out and I seem to be the impotence for a lot of that, so I'm trying to rein that in. But it's hard for me just because it's fun. The scenes are fun and actually, there's a lot more humor in this season because it got really dark in the last season and there's a lot more lightness going on, mainly with J.T. and Tess because they get all those great one-liners, but even for Gabe and Catherine, there's some lighter moments, which have been a lot of fun to play and very different for this character certainly, and for the Catherine character..."

"'Beauty and the Beast' photo: Vincent and Cat have a picnic - spoilers - "Vincent isn't really himself when he returns for "Beauty and the Beast" Season 2. At least, he's not quite the same Vincent we saw in the first season. But that doesn't mean that Vincent can't enjoy a candlelit picnic with his beloved Catherine. This exclusive photo from episode 2 of the upcoming season, "Kidnapped," gives us a peek at the beginning of that picnic. It's not just romance and candles in Season 2 though. After being kidnapped (by Cat's real father!!!) in the Season 1 finale, Vincent has been missing for months when the new season premieres. Cat, JT and even Gabe (no, he's not dead) have spent a great deal of time frantically looking for their beastly friend, but it's like Vincent has simply disappeared. bviously, he does come back. The question is: **How does Vincent come back? Will he feel the same about Catherine? Will his priorities have changed after months in mysterious captivity? Will he even be happy to enjoy a picnic with Cat? We will find out some of the answers when "Beauty and the Beast" premieres on Monday, Oct. 7. "Kidnapped" will follow a week later -- that's when we will see this picnic."

"Watch: Kristin Kreuk previews a new season of 'Beauty & the Beast' [Video]- "Kristin Kreuk, one of the stars of the Showcase series Beauty & the Beast, said Monday fans should expect a different tone in the second season. "This season is a lot darker," she said in an interview that aired Tuesday on Global's The Morning Show. "There's some stuff that's really dark, which is fun. The audience will really like it." The 30-year-old Vancouver native said the sophomore season begins with her character Catherine finding Vincent (Jay Ryan) after three months apart — and he has lost his memory. "It's like a process of rediscovery and falling in love all over again," explained Kreuk, who said the show will delve deeper into the beast world. "You'll see how different beasts are," she promised, "and it's quite gross sometimes."

"Beauty and the Beast: Nina Lisandrello Talks About What's Coming [Nina Lisandrello Interview] - ""Fan Voice:I wrote up a thing – that you retweeted – about female buddies on TV–

Nina Lisandrello: I really appreciated that, because, I think so often that with women on TV, it's more about comparing them, like seeing how they compete with one another, and it's just, no. That's not what this show does. We support one another. Tess and Cat are totally different and the combo together is beautiful, which I love.

Fan Voice: I wanted to see how that's developing this season with everything that's happened because I know that Kristin was just telling us that Cat is completely falling apart, not paying bills and all that.

Nina Lisandrello: Yeah, Cat might as well have a meth addiction this season. It is just so off the rails, and understandably so, but it's a real test to Tess's friendship because at the end of the day, they're cops that have cases to solve. And Tess gets stuck with all of it because Cat is just looking for her man and because Cat has lost her father and mother, she has to be as sensitive as she can because now she's lost her man too. It's like, jeez, what more can she go through? But at the end of the day, Tess is human and she's going to get exhausted and put to the test sometimes..."

"BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Preview: Jay Ryan Dishes on Vincent's Wiped-Memory and What's Next for Vincent and Catherine [Jay Ryan Interview]""What is it like to film scenes between Vincent and Catherine and J.T. now?

JAY: There's a new dangerous element towards Catherine and J.T. in that Vincent can strike at any time, and if he feels like he is being threatened in any way or fooled in any way, then he's probably going to get them out of the way.

At its heart, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is still a romance. What kind of romance elements are you able to incorporate of that when Vincent does not understand his former relationship with Cat?

JAY: It's an opportunity for them to fall in love all over again, which is always a good thing 'cause the beginning of love is always the most exciting, probably — for television anyway. That romantic element is obviously the heart of our show. There's a lot of new beats we can play with Catherine and Vincent's relationship. They moved very fast in Season 1 and so we want to slow that back down so the romantic element can be there; instead of the more solid relationship where things become a bit more tricky. I think that the audience that we had in the first season will connect to it. Even though Vincent may seem very different in the beginning in that he doesn't recognize who Catherine is or the love that they had, there is that little twinkle in the eye between them. Its the destiny of the two lovers. I think that's what starts triggering Vincent to remember who he was and which will pull him back into his old self."

"Beauty and the Beast: Austin Basis Talks J.T. and Season 2 - "[Austin Basis Interview] - "Fan Voice:At the end of last season, it took J.T. a while to accept Catherine...Austin Basis: Yes, yes.

Fan Voice: And now she's finding that they have to work together to get their boy back. How's that working for J.T. since he gets a little frustrated with that woman, let's face it.

Austin Basis: Yes. He did. But what I liked about it–

Fan Voice: She's the third wheel. She's breaking up the bromance.

Austin Basis: She's totally a third wheel in the bromance. But yeah, I like the fact that it evolved because I play characters that, I've seen characters that, more so than I play them, you know, and it's not a sitcom where everyone's the same all the time and each episode is a new thing for these defined characters to work at, and I think that's what's great about TV now...I, as an actor, I can't play like just berating her every time, so I have to find a new way to do it if it's in the lines, and if I get the opportunity to have that moment of, that I get to see this woman who really cares for my best friend, and then I want what's best for him, so in turn, I'm going to look after her or try to make that happen for him, such as the whole Alex (Bridget Regan) arc where J.T. was so adamant about how we have this dynamic that's working; why are you screwing it up by having this dalliance or whatever you're having with Alex, you know?"

"'Beauty and the Beast:' See Vincent's new home, plus premiere scoops! — EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS - "How is the lack of the precinct going to factor in the show; where is Vincent's scar? Will he have flashbacks of Cat? — Steph

Since we can't give away everything, we'll only answer two out of your three questions (seems fair right?). Though Cat hasn't exactly been on top of her detective duties, she does make a trip to the precinct in the premiere. As for flashbacks? No. Vin doesn't have flashes of his past with Cat, but as we teased before, that's not to say he doesn't feel a connection with her. Bonus scoop: Vin may or may not have a mini version of this moment when he sees Cat.

"Jim's Notebook: Lisa Kudrow on Scandal, Changes to Beauty and the Beast and More! [Brad Kern Interview]- "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: We've still got a week before the Beauty and the Beast Season 2 premiere, but you'll notice something missing from Vincent when we next see him: the scar on his face. The show explains what happened in the first episode back but new showrunner Brad Kern told me that there were lots of conversations about losing the scar for good: "Practically there were some production issues because it does take time to put on the scar, it does take time to take off the scar, and [Jay Ryan's] skin didn't like the scar that much all the time."

There is also a creative and aesthetic reason to lose the scar, Kern explained: "We wanted a very super charged Vincent and open the door to mythology that we're just beginning to talk about at the beginning of the season. We wanted Cat to notice right away that he's different and we wanted the audience to know right away that something's different then that becomes a mystery to be solved.".."

"Beauty and the Beast Season 2 Sneak Peek: Vincent and JT Awkwardly Try to Reconnect—Watch! - "Well, that explains the episode's title! Beauty and the Beast returns for its highly-anticipated second season on Monday, Oct. 7 with "Who Am I?," and we know who will be asking that very question in the premiere: Our main beast Vincent (Jay Ryan)! After being captured by Muirfied in the season one finale, it seems Vincent will be a changed man when we next see him...and by changed we mean he won't even know who he is! In an exclusive sneak peek at the season two premiere, it's revealed that Vincent has has his memory wiped, which JT (Austin Basis) attempts to remedy by showing him around their place, leading to a hilariously awkward exchange...

While JT is showing Vincent around, our beast (who is definitely a lot colder, no?) asks some questions, including if it's just the two of them living there. "You and me," JT says, before receiving a weird look from Vincent. He then sputters out, "But just as friends. Good friends. Best friends. But friends only...just." Oh JT, you always have such a way with words! But Beasties may want to prepare for some heartache to go along with the laughs as it seems season two will be a tough ride for fan favorite couple Vincent and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk). "It's a really intense episode. The show's pace is going up this season, so a lot is happening," Kreuk teased. "We're three months ahead; three months has passed since the finale, so they're getting filled in on a lot of what happened during that time. It's going to be kind of achingly romantic."

"Beauty and the Beast Season 2 Premiere Teasers: 5 Things You Need to Know [Spoilers]- "Beauty and the Beast left audiences with a major cliffhanger last season when Vincent was captured and taken away, leaving Catherine with a dying Gabe on the floor. Fortunately, The CW released a screener and I was privileged to watch it early. When Beauty and the Beast returns for season 2, we will see a three-month time jump and some of the story lines that were left hanging last season will come forth and set up a new dynamic for this upcoming season. Here are 5 spoilers you need to know:

Obsession. From the moment Catherine saw the man/beast she loves being taken away, she becomes obsessed with finding him and bringing him back to her. So much so, that she has laid low at the precinct and has not been there for her family...especially for her sister, which causes some tension in their relationship.

Family Secrets. As we found out in the finale, Catherine's biological father, Agent Reynolds, definitely has something to do with Vincent's capture and he will continue to secretly protect his daughter. It's clear from the very beginning that he doesn't want to hurt her, but he does have a mission to accomplish. Turns out, Agent Reynolds will play a pretty significant role this season. We'll also learn more about the hit and run involving her father, including information that her family failed to reveal to Catherine about her lineage..."

"'Beauty and the Beast' Season 2 premiere: 10 things to know about 'Who Am I?' [Spoilers]- 'What changes? 10 "Beauty and the Beast" premiere spoilers have some answers.

1. Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) isn't dead. This isn't a huge shock. The impressive part is how quickly he lives (within seconds) and how. All of this near-death stuff, however, has brought about some changes.

2. Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) starts out the season rather obsessed with finding Vincent (Jay Ryan). Tess (Nina Lisandrello) and JT (Austin Basis) are both rather concerned about this -- especially since there's an increased workload at the police station, and Tess is covering all of it.

3. Cat is so obsessed with finding Vincent, in fact, that she a) is willing to chase down even a "maybe" match for her beloved and b) is not worried about driving in New York City traffic.

4. Heather (Nicole Anderson) and Catherine really haven't talked much in the time since the finale. Heather is really worried about this (and not only because she thinks that she alone holds the secret of Cat's paternity).

5. Because Vincent really has been missing all this time, it takes awhile for the character to show up in the season premiere. But don't worry -- he pops up about 10 minutes in. How he pops up? That's the real question.

6. Want to know the entire basis for the company called Muirfield? Let's just say that the Season 2 premiere is the episode you have been waiting for.

7. When Cat and the gang do find Vincent, something is missing. Two "somethings," to be exact.

8. A man named Bob is important to this episode.

9. Don't try to get Catherine to give a memorial speech. It's not likely to end well.

10. "How does someone stay off the grid in this day and age?" This question has a great deal to do with the plot of "Who Am I?""

"Beauty and the Beast – 2.01 – Who Am I? – Preview [Spoilers]: First of all, if you have been avoiding spoilers, like I have (which I doubt because come on, you're on a site named Spoiler TV), this episode might be a bit jarring. This is definitely a soft reboot of the show. The two leads seem out of character, while Vincent has a reason, Cat does not. I don't know whether to chalk this up to the writer of the episode (the new co-showrunner Brad Kerns) not really understanding what makes Cat so likable or if this a character retcon that he will be forcing down our throats. The same thing can be said for Tess who seems less sassy and more witchy (which translate to: comes off highly unlikable). I know Brad Kern can write for women (he was the showrunner for Charmed for all eight of its seasons) so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Secondly, I was pleasantly surprised and perfectly fine with them moving away from the procedural aspect of the show. While I am more than happy to see the character of Joe Bishop gone, the actor Brian White will be missed. The 125th precinct is in shambles but no worries, the district attorney has appointed a certain someone (*cough* Gabe *cough*) to fix it and get things back in order. Tess is not a fan of this arrangement and tension (that may or may not be unresolved sexual tension) ensues..."

"'Beauty and the Beast:' Vincent in chains — EXCLUSIVE PHOTO - 'Beauty and the Beasts' Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Cat (Kristin Kreuk) may be set to reunite in season two, but it certainly won't be easy. In this exclusive photo from the premiere—which picks up three months after the finale—a scar-free Vincent is chained to a chair and surrounded by gunmen. Don't expect much relief when he's finally set free though. Vincent—who was abducted by Muirfield last season—will return as a "supercharged beast on a mysterious mission." Oh, and he won't have any memory of his past. How's that for complicated?

There is however a slight silver—okay fine, more like bronze—lining. With Vincent off the rails, it'll be up to Cat to play hero. The detective will have to balance figuring out what caused Vincent's change, and trying to solve the secrets swirling around her own life. Luckily, our beauty has brains, so we're hoping it won't take too long for her to solve the case."

SilverPetticoatReview selected Catherine & Vincent's dance in 'Bridesmaids Up' as their 'Classic Romantic Moment of the Week'! - "...Now, most people might choose a different moment between Catherine and Vincent like say them consummating their relationship or Vincent sending his dance gram for Valentine's Day. But that is not (to me anyway) what makes the romance between the two unique and extraordinary. No, like Beauty, I want the Beast. I like the Beast. I find him fascinating and grandly romantic. We, the audience should feel disappointed when the Beast is gone because he is so magnetic and alluring in his beastly form. Of course then, my romantic moment would have to be one of the times Vincent transforms into the Beast.

I go as far back as my favorite episode in season one, "Bridesmaid Up." Everything about this episode worked romantically. Like Angel at Buffy's prom, Vincent's arrival to Catherine's father's wedding is like an entrance by a Knight in Shining Armor, saving her with a dance in the midst of her dateless evening. The gesture, particularly because his coming is dangerous to his own life, is just one moment that stands out. But, for me, it isn't nearly as romantic as what comes next..."

"We asked & you voted: 'Vincat' is the couple you're most excited to see again this fall!

Beasties, rejoice! More than 300,000 voters weighed in on HollywoodLife.com's "Hottest Fall TV Couples" poll, and Beauty & The Beast's Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) dominated the competition.

HollywoodLife.com's entertainment director Andy Swift (aka me!) recently paid a visit to the Toronto, Canada, set of Beauty & The Beast, and I can confirm the chemistry between Vincent and Catherine will be hotter than ever in season two. Cat may have to move heaven and earth — not literally, though I'm sure she would — to get Vincent back, but it'll definitely be worth the effort.

In fact, Jay told reporters it'll be like watching Vincent and Catherine "fall in love all over again."

Say it with me now: Awww!"

"Beauty and the Beast Making Room For She-Beast - "...According to TV Guide, One Life to Live actress Amber Skye Noyes will be playing Tori, the innocent daughter of a powerful beast, who is rescued by Cat (Kristin Kruek) and Vincent. She's taken under their wing and is able to find protection in them, which allows her to make some discoveries that will leave her shocked. What kind of surprises? Hmm, let me think. Maybe she finds out she's a beast! I mean, come on, how is she not going to turn into a beast and be all she-beasty? It has to happen otherwise what's the point of her father being a beast? Side note: I'm only assuming she's the daughter of a man-beast.

Noyes will be appearing in three episodes, which is plenty of time for her to explore what it's like to be a beast. I'm particularly interested in what happens you get a male and female beast in the same room together. Maybe Vincent will find himself attracted to this newcomer and will be unable to control himself when he beasts out. That's definitely something that should be addressed..."

"A really nice Kristin Kreuk 'Spanish' interview by diariovasco, talking about her role as Detective Catherine Chandler on 'Beauty and the Beast' [Kristin Kreuk Intervew] - "I have trouble gettting really angry" Actress Kristin Kreuk is Detective Catherine in 'Beauty and the Beast' (tomorrow at 22.30 on channel 'Cuatro'). "My appearance is a fragile one but, I am capable of fighting anybody"

The adaptation of the story of 'Beauty and the Beast' (airing tomorrow at 22.30 on channel 'Cuatro) comes to an end. Actress Kristin Kreuk (Vancouver, Canada, 1982), who shot to fame on 'Smallville' changes persona in this fiction to become Catherine, a New York homicide detective who questions her past after meeting Vincent Keller (played by Jay Ryan), a mutant doctor who in reality is a military experiment gone wrong. A story that highlights our obsession with image.

- You're a lead on 'Beauty and the Beast'. Have you noticed more pressure?

- I get asked that a lot, but the truth is I don't feel pressure. It's certainly a great responsibility to have a series on your shoulders. But nothing more.

- Did you physically prepare yourself for Catherine ?

- I competed as a professional gymnast, I'm a purple belt in karate, and worked as a theater dancer. I felt physically prepared to play this role. My appearance is fragile but do not be fooled, I'm capable of fighting anybody .

- Are you a tough woman?

- Being tough indicates being strong and there are aspects of me that aren't. I don't consider myself a woman capable of holding a job like my character . I would be a horrible detective in real life (laughs)..."

"Beauty and the Beast Season 2 First Look: Vincent Is Ripping VinCat Apart—Literally! - Remember that time Jay Ryan told us Ben & Jerry's ice cream sales would go through the roof after Beauty and the Beast's season two premiere? Turns out, he was wrong...fans are going to need the comfort a bit earlier!

The CW breakout drama returns for its sophomore season on Monday, Oct. 7, and Beasties who have been eagerly awaiting the reunion of Vincent (Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk), who were separated in the finale after he was kidnapped, are surely going to be heading out for some ice cream/tissues/wine after checking out this exclusive season two poster we got our hands on.

In the new promo shot, Vincent is seen tearing apart a photo of VinCat's faces. Try and avoid the money-makers next time, pal! Looks like Vincent's Beast side will be taking over this fall. Beast is the new black, people! So what can fans expect from the season two premiere (which Kreuk described as "achingly romantic" when we caught up with her at Comic-Con in July)?

With Beauty and the Beast veering away from the procedural element in favor of heavier mythology, Ryan teased, "The fans are almost going to be one or two steps ahead for each character, so they're going to know what's behind the door. It's going to have this thriller, nail-biting tension to it."

"Fall TV Spoiler Spectacular: Exclusive Scoop and Photos on 45 Returning Favorites! - '"BEAUTY AND THE BEAST - PREVIOUSLY ON... | After Vincent engaged in a beastly brawl with Gabe, he was captured and airlifted away by a Muirfield team commanded by... Catherine's biological father?!

COMING UP NEXT | Picking up three months later, "You'll see the toll [losing Vincent] has taken on Catherine," says EP Sherri Cooper. As a result, kid sis Heather -- who in the finale learned their pop isn't really their pop -- "is still trying to figure out, 'Do I tell her? Or do I not?' She assumes Cat is having a reaction to their dad's accident"... and/or a "traumatic something else" that happens in their lives. Vincent's whereabouts, meanwhile, are more (or less) quickly established, but how will his lady love possibly track him down? "You'll realize there was one lead she could follow up on," Cooper teases. "It's a cool, Agatha Christie-like moment where you're like, 'A-ha!'" Might Cat get an assist from the other beast in her life? "Gabe was shot to pieces, but he got a second chance at life, and that affects a person's point of view," says Cooper. "He's 'born again.'"

TVLINE BONUS SPOILER | Though the show is dropping the procedural element, we'll still see Cat and Tess work cases that "are related to the greater mythology," says Cooper. OK, but why is Tess subjecting her partner to a lie detector test early on in Season 2?!

Young up-and-coming filmmaker, Jeffrey Grellman, was interviewed by Filmmaker Magazine and gave Kristin Kreuk a very nice shout-out - "...I was putting together another film that had theatrical distribution, had a hedge fund ready to finance and an interested star when funding kind of reached a tipping point that I couldn't quite tip in favor of a "go-picture" just yet because we needed a producer with a viable track record. "Five (GIF Worthy) Reasons We Love Kristin Kreuk - If we haven't made it clear already, we love our FALL '13 Covergirl, Kristin Kreuk and we firmly believe you should too. Why? I'm glad you asked.

1) Her smile is adorable. 2) She looks beautiful even when she's upset. No really. How is she doing this? 3) Don't let the cute side fool you- Kristin can be seductive (and does a damn good job of doing so). 4) Probably our favorite reason: Despite her undeniable beauty, Kreuk was raised humble and always believed that "your currency isn't in your looks". Clearly, this girl has quite her share of inner beauty. 5) She was absolutely stunning for Audrey Magazine's photoshoot by Dexter Quinto."

"Fall '13 Fashion Extra | Chatting with Stylist Sima Kumar about Kristin Kreuk's Cover Shoot - "Sima Kumar, on why it's fun to dress Kristin: We're both yoga junkies, and that's part of what makes her fun to dress. She has an organic sense of her body, so she can carry off so many different looks and really be a chameleon.

When she was just about to turn 30, we talked about how interesting it'd be to change up the proportions of her style. She's so fit and thin, so it's easy to put her in tight clothes, especially since she comes out of the CW and is so pretty. But people have noticed that I've started draping her in looser things with different proportions in a way that's more interesting and brave.

I always look at [fashion] as an opportunity for other people to see [Kristin] in a way that's different than the way she's marketed for her shows. You get so stereotyped when you're on a series, [for example,] as the girl who's always crying or heartbroken, so it's just another opportunity for us to shake it up. It's a playful way to express parts of her that the public doesn't usually get to see. And she likes the intellectual process I go through styling, in order to try and create a story. Sima Kumar: I've styled so many musicians, so this look was inspired by rock 'n roll. There's the furry vest with long slip dress underneath, which has kind of an off-duty model/rock star girlfriend vibe. I think she pulled it off really well.

Sima Kumar: This is more of a fun, bohemian look. I know she'd never wear this in real life, but I pulled it for the shoot because it photographs beautifully. We're mixing prints, and this outfit shows her love of travel and other cultures.

Sima Kumar: This look is inspired by Devo. [laughs] It's almost like one of those '80s videos.

Sima Kumar: This look was more about the different textures: the jeans are metallic, the sweater is cashmere, and the blue necklace is handmade by an amazing designer, Elke Hechler. They're made of Austrian hand-blown glass beads that are woven and knit together.. It's a very basic outfit — a comfy sweater, jeans, and necklace — but it shows her bumpy side, her soft side, and her shiny side. The multiple layers of her personality.

Sima Kumar: This was a hot outfit; she had ankle boots, leather shorts, a T-shirt, and a chain nail vest that's designed by Alana K'akia. So this look is about how we're always protecting ourselves. Our armor is very complex and intricate, but she's exposing it. And the dog belongs to Dexter [Quinto, the photographer]!

"Fifty Shades of Beauty: Kristin Kreuk of Beauty and the Beast [Kristin Kreuk Interview]- KRISTIN KREUK has been in the spotlight for more than a decade, from the time audiences fell for her as Superman's girl-next-door crush Lana Lang in the popular TV series Smallville to present-day 2013, as star of The CW's Beauty and the Beast, which is about to start its second season in October. Though she's become a natural at walking red carpets and posing for photo shoots, it took her a long time to embrace fashion as a vehicle for self-expression.

Sima Kumar, Kreuk's longtime friend and stylist who acted as the creative director for this issue's cover spread, remembers meeting Kreuk for the first time in 2002 when she was hired to style a photo shoot for Parade magazine. "I didn't know who she was, so I was like, 'Who is this little girl?'" says Kumar. "She was wearing cargo pants, desert boots and a backpack."

Prior to acting in the Canadian TV productions Edgemont and Snow White, which she did right before landing Smallville, Kreuk was a bookish high school student who competed at the national level in gymnastics. "I was kind of a righteous child," remembers Kreuk. "I was really anti-shallowness, and in my limited view, I perceived putting effort and caring about what I looked like to be something that was somehow wrong."

"She comes from a family that didn't feed into how beautiful she is, and she was taught that your currency isn't in your looks," explains Kumar. "So when Kristin first started acting, and there was a need for her to look a certain way, I don't think she even understood it. It seemed silly and stupid to her, especially as a teenager incubated in the world of a TV set. You understand why you're getting dressed up to play a character, but it doesn't translate to why you have to look a certain way when you go out in public."

It didn't help that much of her commercial appeal at the time depended on her being the object of desire. "That was definitely something I was also pissed about," Kreuk says, laughing. "I was like, 'I don't want to be seen this way. I want to be seen as a real person. So I'm going to wear the baggiest clothes ever!'"

"'Beauty and the Beast' Interview: Jay Ryan on Whether Vincent's a Man or a Beast [Jay Ryan Interview] - 'Highlights from the interview: VinCat will be challenged when they are reunited. The theme for BATB season 2 is "Who am I?" and "For Vincent, it's 'Am I man or am I beast?'" It becomes a bigger question for him because while in Muirfield's custody, they "rewired" him to be the "super-soldier that they always intended him to be." Vincent and Catherine will have to deal with that and re-discover each other to "make their relationship and their bond stronger." The "beast" make-up and prosthetic is redesigned for season 2. New stunt coordinators are working on a different style of movement for the rewired Vincent. The beast is scarier this season. It's more about what isn't shown. "Vincent's universe is really going to open up this season." His past will be revealed, including why he and JT are such good friends and JT feels need to protect Vincent. Vincent feels guilty for being captured. He'll be disconnected from both Catherine and JT as the season begins. "He has to decide if he's man or he's beast."

If you are a Beastie, you TOTALLY get where I am coming from, RIGHT? If you've never watched Beauty and the Beast [one of my favoritenew shows] and I haven't been able to convince you to watch it yet, I have failed. I can start listing all the reasons why I think BATB is an underrated, worth watching show... but do you really need more reasons besides Jay Ryan? [Seriously, just do a google search, not enough room for all the hot pictures here]. This is not just about the obvious good looks. He is clearly very handsome, but the problem with really hot guys is that they tend to be very one-note with their performances and we end up wishing they would just shut up and look pretty. Luckily that is not the case with Jay Ryan, he is able to act tough but show vulnerability when needed and his performance is pretty nuanced overall. Plus we wouldn't want him to just 'look pretty and shut up' because he has one of the most amazing voices! His real accent is sexy enough, but something happens when he does the American accent that makes his voice sound especially raspy. He could actually be an ugly guy and he would still be sexy because of the voice... but he is definitely not ugly. Do you seriously need more reasons to check out this show?"

Showcase Showdown: The Makeout Edition [Poll] - "Do you have a favourite Showcase character? How about a favourite couple? Today we are tracking the makeout evolutions of two of Showcase's hottest couples in this edition of the Showcase Showdown*. Some videos might be NSFW, enjoy! Being a Tease: Vincent & Catherine: I probably don't need to remind you of the many times Vincent ALMOST kissed Catherine and vice versa. These two could have turned their near-miss kisses into a spin-off dubbed "Cat & Mouse"...or something like that. It was a constant tease for everyone involved. The First Kiss: Vincent & Catherine: Were you throwing things at the tv every time these two pulled away from what was sure to be the best kiss ever? I had given up on them kissing at all in season one when they finally went for it in episode "Tough Love". And it was SO HOT. Hot 'n Heavy: Vincent & Catherine: Business aside (the business of finding out whether or not Vincent would literally turn into an animal in bed), these two did not waste any time once that first kiss was out of the way. Cat misses work, Vincent misses watching her work...these two don't mind letting a sleepover work its way through the day."

SDCC | 'Beauty and the Beast' Teases 'Super-Charged' Vincent in Season 2 - "Levin and Cooper immediately addressed how they brought Catherine and Vincent together romantically by the end of Season 1, saying that after a lot of discussion, they decided they wanted the show to be about romance and the two characters being drawn to each other. Explaining that they thought it felt false to keep them apart for two long, the producers acknowledged they also saw a lot of online chatter asking what they were waiting for. "I just wanted the fans to stop harassing us on Twitter about it," Ryan joked. "It was nice to bring the relationship to that point and not have to worry about the will-they-or-won't-they aspect of it," Kreuk said, "and it means we have a lot of places to go from here..."

"Can you please keep us in touch with the latest on the Beauty and the Beast show? It will be much appreciated. –Carol

I hereby confirm that Sendhil Ramamurthy will be back as Gabe, and for multiple episodes at that. The big question is: Who's side is he on now? Jay Ryan, for one, believes the secret-keeping ADA owes poor, abandoned Catherine a serious solid. As he puts it, "Gabe has got a lot of making up to do, if he wants to get back in our good books."

"Beauty and the Beast Producers Tease Season 2 - Time For Some History! -"...Their tease? Part of this season will involve a fire station. This is big news for fans who want to learn more about Vincent's family. "They're all firefighters", says executive producer Sherri Cooper, "his brothers, his family, his father even, so this is a good hint." As we learned in the first season, Vincent's brothers died in the terrorist attacks of 9/11, motivating him to join the military and ultimately leading to his involvement with the Muirfield experiments. While we don't know exactly when in time we'll visit this fire station, I think it's safe to say that we're definitely going to get to know more about - and maybe even meet - the Keller family.

But Vincent isn't the only character getting a bigger and better backstory. This season, it's time to get to know J.T. Forbes. Not only will we find out how Vincent and J.T. met, but executive producer Jenniver Levin reveals we'll also learn why J.T. has been there for Vincent during this entire ordeal. "We'll see what's motivated him to give up his whole life and devote himself to protecting Vincent," says Levin. "There's a really cool story behind it."

"...While the romance between Ryan's Vincent and Kreuk's Catherine has kept viewers on the edge of their seats all season long, the show's stars confirm that things won't exactly be easy going forward for the star-crossed lovers. "They're pulled apart and we're going to discover what Vincent has been turned into, I guess," Ryan says. "And it's sort of like, 'Who am I?'" Is he beast, or is he man? He has to sort of rediscover that and navigate a new relationship with Catherine. ... We were pushed together very quickly in season one -- a lot because the fans were sort of, you know, chanting for it -- so we gave it to them, but now, for objectivity, we need to regroup again."

"Well, they need to earn it," Kreuk adds about their characters. "You don't know that it's really love until there's been some difficulty, and that's going to be the season. Jay mentioned the 'Who am I?' thing and that's kind of the theme of our entire season for all of the characters. It's really discovering who they are on their own."

The show's pace is going up this season, so a lot is happening," she teases. "We're three months ahead; three months has passed since the finale, so they're getting filled in on a lot of what happened during that time. It's going to be kind of achingly romantic." Kreuk also says that fans can expect "a full rich mythology" in season two, with less of a procedural element, as Ryan adds, "This season the fans are almost going to be one or two steps ahead for each character, so they're going to know what's behind the door. It's going to have this thriller, nail-biting tension to it."

The show's fanbase is one of TV's most passionate, leading Beauty and the Beast to win seven categories in our 2013 Golden Remote Awards, including Kreuk for Drama Mama. The American television series, 'Beauty and the Beast', has successfully replaced 'Un príncipe para Corina'. This revision of the classic tale starring Kristin Kreuk ("Smallville") and Jay Ryan ('Sea Patrol') dominated the prime time both in Catalonia and in the whole of Spain.

The premiere of 'Beauty and the Beast' gathered before their television sets 1.6 million viewers (10.3% share), beating out all of the other series airing during prime time. The 'Pulseras Rojas' from 'Antena 3' had 1.5 million fans (9.6%), the' CSI Miami 'Tele 5, 1.4 million (9.6%), the miniseries TVE-1' Les Miserables ', 1.2 million (10.1%), and' The Mentalist ' Sixth, with 856,000 (5.3%).

In Catalonia, this series from 'Cuatro' clinched second place in the 'ranking' of the day, with 373,000 followers (15.5%). The only series to beat them was 'Telenotícies migdia' TV-3.

Kristin Kreuk: "Television romances occur rather fast; they quickly get naked" [Known for her role as Lana Lang in "Smallville" the actress stars in 'Beauty and the Beast" premiering today [July 15, 2013] on channel 'Cuatro']

"Since 2001, the Canadian Kristin Kreuk (Vancouver, 1982) is widely known for her role as Lana Lang from the TV show, "Smallville." After a movie, she returns to television with "Beauty and the Beast", a thriller based on the classic tale and inspired by the eighties television series. 'Cuatro' channel premieres it tonight, at 22.00 pm, with Kreuk in the role of Catherine Chandler, a homicide detective who works with a doctor who has superhuman powers after surviving a dark military experiment.

- What differentiates this series version from the eighties version?

'It's very different and very modern; it takes place in our world. It doesn't look like a remake.

-The pilot was directed by Gary Fleder, responsible for films such as "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead" and "Kiss the Girls". What does he bring to the show?

Some kind of masculine energy and action. I love to portray it and I think I did a decent job. We'll see how the rest of the episodes follow.

- Are the protagonists doomed to romance?

I don't know how their relationship will evolve, but I see it being more 'old school'. Now, television romances occur very fast. People meet and then quickly get naked. It's crazy. Ours will be more classic.

- Why should the audience see the show?

Because it really explores how the characters accept one another. It may sound corny, but for me it is about learning to love others as well as oneself. And throughout this experience there's also action and romance. I think it will be a great series.

"Despite a recent bent towards focussing more on home-grown commissions rather than acquiring scripted content, acquisitions are still big business both for the UK buyers and the studios in Hollywood...I've confirmed that UKTV has picked up the rights, from various distributors, to Beauty and the Beast season 2, Being Human USA season 2, Grimm season 3 and Perception season 2...Beauty And The Beast- Loosely based on the 1980′s series of the same name, Beauty and the Beast is a modern day take on the classic fairy tale which follows the complex relationship between Detective Catherine Chandler and Vincent Keller, a former marine who was reported KIA in Afghanistan in 2002 and saved Catherine from the assassins who murdered her mother several years ago. Theses two are powerfully drawn to each other yet understand that their connection is extremely dangerous for both of them. The drama series is produced by CBS Television Studios...

...UKTV's most high profile acquisition from the 2012-2013 broadcast season, Beauty and the Beast was acquired by the commercial network late last year, around the time of MIPCOM 2012. The series was said to signify UKTV's continuing commitment to offer exclusive content on its network of channels, and was one of two series from the 2012-2013 broadcast season acquired for their flagship entertainment channel Watch (the other, NBC's Do No Harm, was quickly cancelled state-side and is set to premiere on Watch on Monday July 22nd at 9pm). Beauty and the Beast debuted on Watch in January 2013 and recently finished airing its 22 episode first season on the channel. Just as it was a solid performer for US network The CW, Beauty and the Beast has proven to be a success with UK audiences. The series premiered to over 0.4 million viewers and while it did see some drop in the ratings going forward, the first season of the series averaged an audience of 0.3 million viewers; rating above the slot average and ranking as Watch's third highest rated US import behind only Grimm and Perception. The ratings success of the series made the pick up of the show's second season a no-brainer. Something which was already covered by UKTV's existing licensing deal with CBS Studios International, as they acquired Beauty and the Beast under a multi-season agreement (I hear that the deal, as it stands, is for 3 seasons). I'm told that the second season will air on Watch closely behind its premiere on The CW in the US, which is slated for Monday October 7th."
